ís New 5000 Deluxe Massage Chair

Tuesday, February 27th, 2007

any features and spoiled rotten bonuses in the
Omega M-5000 Deluxe Massage Chair, which you might have a hard
time getting out of this chair. Starting with the overall
appearance of this handsome chair, down to the technology and
=EBextras’, there are enough treats to spoil just about any
person who wants to be spoiled.

Genuine premium Ox hide leather covers this chair beautifully
to allow the softest, most comfortable seat in the house. In
addition, an ergonomically designed dual headrest pillow
accommodates for people with different body types, thus making
the massage session more effective for that individual.

When you sit down in this chair, the technology will scan your
body shape and weight against the chair to customize the
massage track length and roller width according to your own
body type. With a massage track that strokes a 28 inch length,
which is a few inches longer than the average human spine, you
will get your body worked from your neck down to your pelvis.
An issue I have with a lot of other massage chair recliners is
that they don’t massage the sacrum (the triangular bone at the
base of your spine and between your pelvic bones, in the back),
which is a common area of complaint for low back pain sufferers.

Because this chair scans your specific body type, you cannot
specify a lower or higher shoulder height if your determined
height does not suit your preferences of the area that needs
the massage most.

In addition to the basic massage feature of working up and down
your back, the Omega M-5000 Deluxe will also work your neck and
shoulders, relieving common fatigue and pain most commonly
found in people that do computer work or stationary work. The
auto feature of this massage technique allows for a precise
pinpoint treatment to those common ailments.

And as the massage works its way down your back, it also works
your waist and low back more effectively. Many massage chairs
tend to miss this area, or cannot effectively work this region.
But low back pain is the most common reason people see a Doctor
for back pain, and is estimated that 4 out of 5 people will deal
with low back pain at some point in their life. That’s
practically every person. The targeted pressure points from
this feature are effectively relieved, allowing stress and
tension to dissipate from that region of the back, leaving you
feeling improved and relieved of this most common low back
symptom.

You can also recline this chair from 115 to 175 degrees to
really sink into the chair. The seat of the chair is not
considered =EBoversized’ so as the chair reclines, the seat space
is minimized. This chairs design overall is not accommodating
to larger people, with the measurements and technology only
suiting a person 200 lbs or less.

With a total of 6 rollers and 5 pre-set sessions to work your
back, neck, shoulders, and waist/low back- it seems enough of a
chair at that. But that’s not all. The Omega M-5000 Deluxe
also works your thighs, buttocks, calves, and feet.

3D Air Pressure for the lower body is customizable for your
tolerance, as well as 2 pre-set programs for the calves and
feet to effectively use reflexology and pressure points to
relieve common symptoms of fatigue and stress in the lower
body. Nodules in the feet are utilized when the air bags are
activated, stimulating acupressure points. No other massage
chair uses both air and nodules in this area as effectively
together.

Omega chairs boast the use of Japanese-made parts, which are
assembled in China, instead of Chinese or Taiwanese parts that
have a reputation of wearing out quicker. The ratio breakdown
using cheaper components is the primary reason that chairs need
repair or maintenance work.

With extra features like a pop-up tray on the side of the c
hair for convenience, a holder for the remote to keep it still
accessible, an MP3 player that is compatible with windows
2000/XP and headsets, all of these features are added for the
same reason: To increase your ability to relax, therefore
maximizing the benefit of a massage for overall health and a
stress free life.

The only =ECknock=EE against the Omega 5000 DLX, if you can call it
that, is that it is a relatively new chair, not as well known as
the Interactive Health or Panasonic massage recliners. But, to
put your mind at ease, Omega offers a whopping 5-year warranty,
unparalleled in the massage chair industry. By the way, the
warranty also includes a 90-day in-home service warranty the
minute your chair is up and running in your home or office.

Alberta’s health spa industry has a deep source of inspiration:
the natural hot springs. These springs are a fixture of Banff
National Park’s history and have drawn people since the late
1800s, who have sought the waters for restoration and relaxation.
These waters were even bottled and sold as people travelled from
around the world to be cured.

Today, the Banff Upper Hot Springs continue to inspire visitors,
who also have the option of visiting the Pleiades Massage and
Spa. It provides a holistic approach to health and well-being
through massage therapy and other treatments, in an environment
dedicated to helping people grow and develop in mind, body and
spirit. If you go to Jasper’s Miette Hot Springs with the aim of
simply recharging, you can also explore interpretive trails and
hiking.

At Ripley Ridge Retreat, nestled in Calgary’s Paskapoo Slopes
Forest, the spa encourages visitors to connect with tranquil,
therapeutic surroundings. You can even have a Forest Massage
outside in one of the protected gazebos. The water used at the
Retreat, including the health spa, is natural spring water,
collected from the many springs present on the slopes.

Retreat owner Shawn Ripley offers visitors a ‘wellness walk’
that provides an interpretive tour of the slopes and what grows
there. Various flowers and barks are used in healing oils and
other applications. If you are well enough to take the walk, you
can learn about the flowers that will be used to help treat you
and even collect them with your guide. You can literally stop and
smell the roses, and then pick them, if they apply to your
healing.

“We want people to be contemplative about their condition and to
be involved in the healing process,” says Ripley, a registered
massage therapist who is certified to treat sciatica and
whiplash, among other conditions.

Among various flowers found on the slopes, the health spa uses
the resident Alberta wild rose hip to encourage relaxation and
stress release, as well as recognizing its topical anti-viral
properties for healing the skin.

At the Institut de Sant=C8 in Calgary, Living Better is a program
that addresses all aspects of healing. Marketing Director Wanda
Love says: “We get a lot of people coming through with lifestyle
changes like divorce, change of jobs and cancer.” The health spa
is owned and operated by a physician (Dr. Wendy Smeltzer), and
offers one-stop availability for treatments.

“Our focus is the whole body, that’s why we introduced the
lifestyle ‘Living Better’ program that integrates psychological
counselling and nutritional counselling,” says Love, who adds
there is a full range of spa treatments available. You can start
by meeting with the doctor and then can take fitness and cardiac
testing. A sports therapist and a personal trainer can be added
along the way to help you put together a fully integrated
lifestyle that is both healing and healthy.

The Black Cat Guest Ranch located just outside Jasper National
Park, is one of Alberta’s oldest, established in 1935. It’s a
small, family owned and run guest ranch that features 16 rooms
with great views of the first range of the Rocky Mountains.

Black Cat owner Amber Hayward says the beauty of the mountains is
a natural tonic that is complimented by various spa treatments
during the ranch’s featured health spa weekends. Hayward has
written a novel about a psychic healer entitled (of course!) The
Healer. She says visitors’ favourite healing activities include
yoga, massage and reflexology and, for those who can do it,
hiking in this remarkable natural setting.

Learn The Spanish Language In Spain

Tuesday, February 27th, 2007

spend a lot of time in Spain, whether by
living there or frequent, lengthy stays, you will want to learn
Spanish. For short visits, a few phrases may be sufficient but
not for a longer stay and, especially, if you are living in the
country. It is difficult to live in the country without speaking
and understanding the language, which will help you adapt much
faster.

There are quite a few options available today for learning
Spanish, and you will need to find the best method for you.
What works best for one student may not be the most effective
learning method for another student. A combination approach
often is best, which may include formal instruction, self study
and practical use of the language.

Private instruction or language schools are easy to find,
though they can be expensive in some cases. The most expensive
method for learning Spanish is private instruction, but
one-on-one instruction may be the best method for you as
compared to group classes. Nonetheless, if you are not able to
maintain a self-study program and keep up with the lessons,
formal language instruction whether one-on-one or in a group is
probably the best choice.

Language exchanges are another great learning tool which can be
found on the internet or in magazines and newspapers. Language
exchange is more information learning method whereby you learn
through informal conversation rather than curriculum-based. You
can also use language exchanges as a supplement to a curriculum
program or formal instruction, since any opportunity to speak
and listen to the language will be beneficial.

If you are moving to Spain, you may want to check with the
local city government as they may be able to provide you with
some suggestions on local language programs. Some city
governments even offer courses which are often free. Of course,
there are language schools in Spain. For instance, there is a
Spanish Language School in Madrid, the capital of the country.

Once you have learned the basics of the Spanish language, you
will want to fine-tune what you have learned and continue to
improve your conversational ability. Making friends in Spain is
a great opportunity to converse using your new language skills.
Not only will you be able to use your speaking and listening
skills, making friends will also help you feel more at home.

As far as formal instruction, you can subscribe to more
advanced materials such as a magazine subscription or a
cassette. For example, the Puerta del Sol is a bimonthly
publication which can not only help with your reading and
speaking skills but also help you learn about the culture.

Finally, language or social clubs are a good way to improve
your skills. These discussion groups are less instructional and
more social and generally meet over dinner. This is a great
combination of making friends, improving your language skills
and eating a great Spanish meal. Such social situations help
you gain confidence in your language abilities outside of the
classroom and in the real world.

What Is Stress Disorder Anxiety Anyway?

Tuesday, February 27th, 2007

National Institute of Mental Health, (NIMH),
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is one of the 5 recognized types
of mental illness commonly known as anxiety disorders. While
these five major categories are significant, the complexity of
mental disorders demand for segmentation into even more
conditions.

The post-traumatic stress syndrome, or PTSD is commonly
associated with veterans returning from a war zone. Further
study however, has suggested that this disorder isn’t limited
to war zone veterans that can be identified and people who have
had a significant negative event touch their lives. Understand
that the complexity of this illness isn’t limited to simply
mood swings but is embedded in general feeling caused by an
event.

That event would naturally be very disturbing, unsettling or
emotional scarring. These types of events may include:

a. A physically dangerous situation such as a fire or
automobile accident.
b. A physical assault, rape, mugging, threats on your life etc.

c. Personal property assault. Theft, break in of your home,
etc.
d. A family member, relative or close friend may have been
involved in any of the above

What’s interesting is that a person who may be suffering with
post traumatic stress disorder isn’t necessarily the person who
was directly hurt by the event. Throughout the US, many people
who didn’t lose family in the World Trade Center on September
11 or even lives in New York City were dramatically and
emotionally affected by the disaster. This is also a common
problem when student and workplace shootings occur.

Stress disorder of the posttraumatic type can be characterized
as an emotional rollercoaster that never ends. The fear and
“shell shock” feeling of just going through a significant life
threatening event can be devastating.

Many PTSD disorder sufferers will regain their emotional
equilibrium given enough time. Many find that cognitive
behavioral therapy and counseling can help speed the process
along. In some of the more extreme in serious cases medications
have been used effectively.

One difficulty in living with post traumatic stress disorder
symptoms is that seemingly on associated things are events can
act as a trigger to cause panic and worry. A good example of
this is after someone has broken into your home, every noise
can become a trigger to relive the event. Imagine a situation
where a creaking door brings a flood of thoughts about an
intruder in your home back into your memory.

Although far from being just a condition identified with
returning war veterans, post traumatic stress has become a
significant issue in our modern day world. With the all too
frequent mindless shootings in previously safe places like high
schools and the workplace it’s no wonder that post traumatic
stress is a growing problem in our society. If you or a loved
one is suffering from this stress disorder, get professional
psychological help as soon as possible.

To Stress Or Not To Stress

Tuesday, February 27th, 2007

’stress’ brings to conjures up unpleasant
feelings. However, many of those in the field of psychology are
of the opinion that stress is something that can have positive
effects.

Why the disconnect?

Essentially the answers lie in how each individual person
evaluates their own mental and physical well being.

Perhaps some examples could help to make bring this point home.

For instance, assume two people, one a championship caliber
athlete or performer, the other a college senior about to take
a final test. The athlete or performer has been training most
of their life for tasks that they perform; and let’s say in our
case, the student has hardly cracked a book or studied at all
for the impending test.

From a strictly a physiological point of view both individuals
will be experiencing similar effects – raised heartbeat and
breathing, higher metabolism, active sweat glands and so forth.

Psychologically, there are also similarities – increased
concentration on the task at hand and focus on the next few
minutes, clear images and heightened sensitivity to feelings.

However, there are key differences, at least psychologically
speaking. The athlete is uses these feelings to their advantage
to gain razor sharp focus, ready to tackle challenge, and
confident in his ability to exhibit his prowess and dominate
the contest.

The senior=D6 not so fortunate=D6 probably experiencing doubt and
fear.

In either of the cases it’s reasonable to say that there is a
definite element of stress involved. And one would also
conclude that both individuals are feeling stressful.

It is the differences that are the key.

The athlete mentally processes his scenario as a challenge that
he welcomes and is confident in his ability to tackle. One the
other hand, the senior is well aware of the fact that he has
poorly prepared and understands the ramifications his impending
failure – i.e. a lowered grade and possible having to retake the
class.

In both cases the individuals are uncertain of the outcome, but
each evaluates the odds of success differently… as would each
also project the outcome of failure differently.

The athlete may wind up short of a victory or first place
finish; which may be disappointing but still the overall
picture is one of a successful season or performance.

The senior, on the other hand may see his chances for getting
into a good graduate school slipping away. In fact, he may have
to ultimately pass this class before he can even graduate.

Needless to say, the examples are very basic, but the premise
is accurate.

How you process various events will leave you feeling stressed
or simply one of life’s challenges that you know you can
handle.

You can see by these two examples that there are actually two
definitions of the word ’stress’ that sometimes get
interchanged.

One refers to a heightened awareness and the physiological
symptoms described above.

The other is adds the element of worry and those symptoms.

The latter is the one that can have negative health
consequences that under certain circumstances can even be
physically harmful.

We as humans are tethered to both our mind and our body and the
two aspects affect one another, the psychological part is just
as important.

Pointers While Studying Spanish

Tuesday, February 27th, 2007

nguage can be learned in any order after getting
to know the basic pronunciation, vocabulary and number study.
It is actually similar when learning other foreign languages,
not just the Spanish. Learning a foreign language, for one
reason, requires curiosity and interest from the learner or the
student because without the two, the lessons aid and
memorization methods wouldn’t have any purpose at all since it
won’t and can’t be learned very well and put in to good use by
the student learning it. So why even bother?

Language also appeals to the personal interest of a person and
one can’t just be forced to learn it if the language doesn’t
shift the person’s mood from boredom to excitement. In Spanish,
it is important that you touch-base on specific lessons first
which appeal to you the most because from there, other lessons
of the Spanish language just easily flows in your system and
before you even know it, everything you need to know about the
Spanish language has already sink in.

What you may want to concentrate on is the Spanish verb
conjugation because this is one area of the language which
could become difficult for most beginners. Spanish verb
conjugation could leave you with =EChow=EE and =ECwhy=EE questions but
it could become a breeze once the lesson on the Spanish verb
basic time frames has been focused to intently.

An important reminder in learning the language is to always
keep yourself up to date with the lessons especially if you’re
learning from free online resources. There are always new
approach and correction articles on past Spanish lessons so
it’s always a good idea to keep your mind open to possible
changes since not all learning sources (especially if its free)
are similar or accurate.

Another thing why learning the Spanish language can become as
easy A, B, C is because the minute you progress on the
different Spanish lessons over time, you also would have
developed the adaptation of speaking and using Spanish in any
way most comfortable for you and nobody has to correct you of
your style!

About The Author: Shareen Aguilar is a writer for
http://learn-spanish-program.com which has Memory Improvement
Books and Memory Game Software for better Spanish language
memorization.

Tea: What Makes For A Quality Tea Experience?

Tuesday, February 27th, 2007

an a beverage – it is a way of life that leads to
well being and satisfaction and it is healthy and tastes good as
well.

To start the day with a steaming cup of your favorite tea puts
the rest of the day in a better perspective and to end that day
with a final cup makes the experience that much better. In the
mind of many tea drinkers the day just seems better with tea in
it.

It only follows therefore, that the higher the quality of the
tea, the better the experience.

Many people ask – what is the best way to have a quality tea
experience?

First – start with tea that you like. Although tea comes from
one plant, there are many varieties of tea depending on how it
is processed and whether it is flavored or blended. Country of
origin is also important.. In addition tea is grown in many
areas of the world under varying conditions so environmental
forces are important. Chose a quality tea that not only tastes
good but leaves one with a feeling of wellness and contentment.

From quality comes satisfaction and there are many levels of
quality. Since tea is a commodity, the price you pay for high
quality is usually not significantly more than low quality tea
particularly considering the benefits.

What are the benefits of high quality tea?

First the flavor should be satisfying and memorable with a
light but unique taste that is pleasant and satisfying.

Next the tea should enhance good health in the drinker. Fresh,
quality tea can reduce stress and minimize the effects of free
radicals thus promoting an aura of good health.

Quality tea also promotes a tea lifestyle where the drinker
makes tea an important and healthy part of their life and that
life becomes stress free and enjoyable.

Tea is also a very adaptable drink that can be served hot or
cold depending on the ambient temperature and it can also serve
as a cooking medium. There are many recipes for cooking with
tea.

Remember that the benefits are enhanced as the quality
increases and loose , whole leaf tea is often preferred by
knowledgeable tea drinkers.

How is Quality Ensured?

There are two important elements in ensuring a quality tea
experience: quality of the tea and quality of the preparation.
Quality of the tea is part and parcel of purchasing tea from a
supplier with a culture of quality. Since individual shipment
of tea from the exporting tea garden can and do vary in
quality, deal with an importer who cups or tastes each shipment
as part of an overall quality control program.

There are a number of factors in a high quality tea offering:

-Location and reputation of the tea garden
-Environmental factors such at temperature and humidity
-Time of the year for tea plucking
-Quality of processing
-Blending/ recipe for flavored and blended tea

Tea cupping of each shipment by the supplier will ensure
consistent high quality.

Quality of preparation is as much of an art as it is a science
but the elements of preparation is to use bottled water of high
quality (purified water is best) and steep the brew not more
than four minutes in order to avoid bitterness from the release
of tannic acid. Serve in high quality tea ware with good friends
and the experience will be memorable.
