Sharing some Spiritual Thoughts and Principles from Neale Donald Walsh’s
‘Tomorrow’s God’)

“We are not human beings having a spiritual experience. We are spiritual
beings having a human experience.”
- Pierre Teilhard de Chardin

Submitters’s Note:
This article (in point form) was based on notes I’ve taken directly from
Neale Donald Walsh’s fascinating and thought-provoking new book
‘Tomorrow’s God’, whilst studying the link between the human mind and
spirituality. I’m sharing this piece from Chapter Twelve ‘The Jesus
Factor’ (a “great enlightening read”) to hopefully stimulate thinking and
discussion on the life and mission of Jesus from Walsh’s writings and
beliefs on the spiritual journey’ . (Incidentally, I do ‘try to test’,
futher explore and apply these principles in ‘real life’ and they DO
work). Hope sharing this short extract, these ‘eternal truths’ from an
excellent book may be of interest, uplifting and perhaps even
inspirational to you. Enjoy…

THE JESUS FACTOR (FROM ‘TOMORROW’S GOD’) *

by Neale Donald Walsch

* Published by Hodder Stoughton, a division of Hodder Headline

God and I are one. Jesus taught that we and God are One, but that no one
wanted to believe it; because it did not serve the human agenda. Jesus
was and is a saviour to all humankind. He knew Who He Really Was. So he
declared it for all to hear.

He declared something else. He said that what he did on the earth, we
could also do. By elevating and expanding our consciousness, together
with a high level of faith is the key to experiencing these gifts. That
was the central message that Jesus taught.

“According to your faith, be it unto you.”
“Oh woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt.” (And
the woman’s daughter was made whole from that very hour!)
“If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall
say unto this mountain, ‘Remove hence to yonder place, and it shall
remove, and nothing shall be impossible to you.”
- Jesus’s words

Still if we cannot believe in ourselves and in our own divine heritage
(and because so many people cannot!), Jesus in an act of enormous love
and compassion, invites us to believe in Him.
“Verily, verily I say unto you, He that believeth in me, the works that I
do, shall he also do; and greater works than these he shall do, because I
go unto my Father. And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I
do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any
thing in my name, I will do it.”

This was an extrordinary promise. So great and so complex was Jesus’s
understanding of who He was and of who we are (”I and my Father are
one”). He knew deeply that there was no limit to what we could do, if we
believed in ourselves, or in Him.

So great was His perfect love for all humankind, and so full was his
compassion for their suffering, that he called upon Himself to rise to
the highest level, to move to the grandest expression of his being, in
order to present a living example to all human beings everywhere:
Of God’s Unlimited Love and Grace for each one of us.

YOU too can elevate your thinking to the highest level of consciousness
and be the change you wish to see in the world today. In so doing you
will live at the highest level of humanity and be an example…for the
benefit of all mankind.

And then He prayed that we would not only see the evidence of His Oneness
with the Father, but our own Oneness with God as well.

It was a marvellous inspiration for him to invite those who could not
imagine themselves to be a part of God to imagine themselves to be a part
of Him. He knew that it would be easier for us to see ourselves as
“Brothers in Christ” than as One with God!
“I and my Father are one (John 10:30).
” And the glory which thou gavest me, I have given them; that they may be
one, even as we are one.” (John 17:22)

He stated repeatedly the truth of our oneness with God.
And if Jesus Christ was One with God, then so too are we. We simply do
not know it, refuse to believe it and cannot imagine it!

In essence, Jesus is saying: ‘I am the Life and the Way. Live your life
as I live mine, go the way I’ve gone, ie. follow me – and you will
experience God’. That is the truth I came to reveal to you. I came not to
humble you, but to exalt you; not to put you down, but to raise you up.

His message (humble) was that he was greater than none, nor is any one
greater than any other, for You are all One. Jesus, like other masters
and messengers (like Buddha, Abraham, Krishna, Moses and Mohammed) love
you today as they did in their times and invite you today, as they did
then to accept and embrace the wonder and glory of Who You Are through
living at the highest level of humanity.

Jesus Christ said what He said and did what He did – that you may know
who He was… and thus know also Who You Are. Often what is hard for us
to believe about ourselves, we can believe about another – and Jesus knew
this! That was His mission giving hope and love to humankind: precisely
what He knew and why He chose do do what He did …in life and in death!
Thus it is not Jesus’s death that can save us, but his LIFE!

We are the hope of humanity
YOU too can choose to be the HOPE OF HUMANITY

THE LAWS OF LIFE: Twenty Universal Laws and Spiritual Truths” (from
Inspirational Books)

“Our minds can shape the way a thing will be, because we act according to
our expectations …and that’s why it shapes our reality.”

INTRODUCTION:

Submitter’s Note: Just sharing a few thoughts as I research, study and
write about the human mind, spiritual principles and the Laws of Life.
This article is largely based upon a chapter, “Universal Laws and Truth”
from the fascinating and thought-provoking book, “The Way of the Warrior
Trader” by Dr Richard D. McCall.
I believe, If we can understand these “facts of life”, anyone WILL
overcome negative and consequently disabling emotions, so you can achieve
your full potential in life. So this is my reason for sharing (as well as
“formalising, clarifying, imprinting and manifesting” these principles
and thoughts – ‘wise’ in my “top two inches”, as I do it), together with
some additional points and input of my own)=D6

Now after that long “intro”, I’ll share the concepts mentioned in this
work with you (whew, at long last!)…

*
Here are the Twenty Universal (and Spiritual) Laws,
which I believe, are applicable in ALL areas of our lives:

1. First is the Law of ATTRACTION: When you are well grounded in your
life purpose, have clarity for what you desire most, and are focused on
your specific needs, the Universe (God/Life Force/Infinite Spirit) will
come to your aid. People who spend time each day getting clear on what it
is that they want, always will be able to get what they want.

2. The second principle is the Law of CONNECTION:
I believe every ‘body’ on this planet is connected in the spiritual
realm. We are all spiritual beings on an earthly existence. Because we
humans have the power of intellectualisation, rationality and especially
in the immense power of choices – to act, to elevate our thinking and so
choose our level of consciousness, which will determine our ultimate
destinies. And we activate our spiritual connection through service to
others, a sense of gratitude (or an attitude of abundance and especially
grace), and a shared humanity.

3. The third principle is based on the Law of SOWING AND REAPING: In more
modern everyday language, this may also be known as the LAW OF CAUSE AND
EFFECT (as postulated by the Greek philosopher, Socrates). First you
must give, and then you will receive. The farmer plants the seed and then
reaps the rich harvest.

The Law of Attraction is also closely related to the LAW OF GRATITUDE:
Have an ‘attitude of gratitude’ and you’ll be richly blessed.

4 The Law of DUALITY (or CONTRASTS):

There is a flip side or opposite of everything. Every negative has a
positive (and is accentuatated – big word – by the contrast). For
instance, you can only know good, if there is evil. Light can only exist
with the darkness. Good luck can only exist, if there is such a thing as
having experienced bad luck. And to experience success you must know
failure. Even severe adversity can have some benefit, if we adopt a
positive attitude and grow from the experience. We can perhaps use our
bitter experiences of the deepest hurts to help others.

Perhaps our dark times (the “dark night of the soul”) are there so that
we can really find joy in the bright days.

5 The Law of CYCLES:

All events occur in cycles. Professional athletes and cricketers (or
baseballers for you Americans) might refer to the law of cycles as
streaks (”hot”).
In accepting the law of cycles, we must know how to make the most of the
good streaks. And when times are bad, keep your head up and look ahead
expectantly to the upcoming reversal of fortune.

6 The Law of EVOLUTION and CHANGE:

Everything evolves and changes (as pressures and the sands of life shift
over time) – the ebbs and flows of life. So it is up to you to ensure you
progress and move ahead; as what were once huge obstacles get, “seemingly
miraculously” removed..

7 The Law of CHOICES:

The greatest aspect of the human condition, I believe is our freedom: a
freedom to make choices in life: regarding where to live, occupation, how
we spend our time, our leisure pursuits, who to marry, and so on. Each
one of us has absolute control over the multitude of choices we make each
day …and our possibilities are unlimit=CEd. Stop feeling trapped by your
circumstances, as you are not a victim of life. If you are feeling
“negatively stuck in the deep brown stuff”, make the decision to change
your life and choose a brand new future. Consequently YOU have the power
and freedom to control your destiny.

Linked to the above Law of Choices is:

8 The Law of RESPONSIBILITY:

You must accept the full outcomes for the various decisions (choices) you
make daily.

9 The Law of INERTIA:

In physics the law of inertia states that: “An object at rest tends to
stay at rest.” This law is true of life as well. Action gets momentum
going! The longer you procrastinate on completing that project, the
longer you go without acting, the harder it will be to get started.

10 The Law of MOMENTUM:

“An object in motion tends to stay in motion.” This second law of physics
is again a reality of life. Once you get started, it is easier to keep
going and make progress. After the decision has been made, one tiny first
step gets the momentum going. You probably notice the effect of this law
in action every day. Once you get out of bed (for me the hardest part)
and into the show=CEr (warm, I trust!), getting dressed, having “brekkie’
and even going out the door to work (’clean and shiny’) is ‘a breeze’.
Done often enough (usually 21X ‘they’ say), an action becomes an
ingrained HABIT… and good habits lead to good results and good living.

“The journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step.”
- ancient Chinese saying

11 The Law of SYNCHRONICITY (otherwise known as “CO-INCIDENCES”*):
* I prefer to call it ‘divine order’.

This principle is closely aligned with no 1: The Law of Attraction.
You are part of the universe, not a separate entity.
We humans are all connected to a common humanity. Your actions affect
those around you and determine how your life is shaped. It is important
to recognize that you are inseparable from the events and situations in
your life. When you see your connection to the world around you, you
understand the control you have over your destiny.

N.B:
12 The Law of MANIFESTATION:
Life is like a mirror – what you put out, you’ll get back even more. Put
out positive energy (vibrations) and you’ll attact positive results.
(This too is closely aligned with Law One: the Law of Attraction).
You become what you think about the most (”then why aren’t I a woman!”).
Our thoughts shape our reality; so we need to learn how to SHAPE our
thoughts, as the potter moulds the clay. Consequently, as the old saying
goes, “Be careful what you wish for – you’ll probably get it!”

“We are what we think.
All that we are arises
With our thoughts.
With our thoughts,
We make our world.”
- the Buddha

“It’s not what you think you are,
but what you THINK, you ARE.”
- minister Norman Vincent Peale, the father of the concept ‘The Power of
Positive Thinking’

13 (”Lucky”) The Law of EXPECTATION (POSITIVE):

Always expect a favourable outcome – the best from your actions in
whatever you undertake. Be an optomist seeing the glass as “half full” in
all your endeavours!

14. The Law of INTENTION (good)
Do things in the right “heart and spirit” with a genuine desire (intent)
of some action(s) to make some small difference in the world, otherwise
sharing ideas to help others …and you can’t go wrong. (My reason for
sharing this piece – “oh no, not another article from you, Craig!”)

N.B.
15 The Law of PROCESS AND ACTION:
Spend more time in planning and setting goals. Then spend quiet times in
reflection and contemplation to review and monitor your progress. Are you
moving ahead, or do you perhaps need to “change tack” (strategy).
Manifesting what we want out of life still requires action and planning.
Ask, trust, and allow the Universe’s Infinite
Wisdom to send you the answers on what to do to attain our deepest
desires.
BALANCE thought with decision, which leads to ACTION. Because, if you are
going to move ahead in life and make the most of your potential, rather
than just ponder possibilities, you will need to take some practical
steps, ie. actually DO something, “Mr/Mrs/Ms Dreamer”. You have to
undergo the process of taking your desired goals and breaking them down
into manageable parts. Plan appropriately and follow through – then
through taking action on each step, it IS definitely possible to attain
even your “wildest” dreams or destination.

16 The Law of HABIT:
Good habits maketh man and woman.

17. The Laws of COMMITMENT and PERSISTENCE:

When one commits fully to an endeavour, “body, heart and soul”, nothing
can stop you. The moment one commits fully to an enterprise, all the
mysterious forces of the Universe, God, Providence, Life Force moves too
- in bringing all the threads even the “tangled” ones) together, so that
your most earnest desires WILL one day come to pass..

18. The Law of COMMAND:
“Thou shalt deem a thing and it shall be so.”

The words we use to ourselves are vital in shaping our attitudes
(mindsets). So be careful what you say to yourself (especially negative
self talk/chatter); as it might just happen – it usually does! “Speak”
desired events, ocurrences and outcomes “into existence”.

and finally… and most importantly (saving the best for last)

19. The LAW (POWER) of BELIEF:

“All things are possible to him who believes.”
- Mark 9:23

Now for a few personal thoughts on “spiritual matters” (note this is NOT
religion, as I sincerely believe dogmatic religion divides humanity).
Jesus Christ understood perfectly human nature and the above-mentioned
principles of the mind – even 2000 years ago! The teachings of Christ
were psychologically correct and violate no psychological laws, though
original in concept and spirit. Jesus possessed a wealth of wisdom in
dealing with people’s day-to-day, as well as their spiritual problems. He
knew the deepest recesses of the human heart: “He knew what was in man.”

So
*
BELIEVE in the tremendous power of BELIEF (ie. certainty): in the form of
your thoughts and imagination. Use these incredible mental tools to your
advantage through your amazing human mind. Sow positive energy and
you’ll reap positive results. If you think your life will be exciting and
fulfilling, you WILL make it a reality.

“Whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you HAVE received it and it
will be yours.”
- Mark 11:24

I believe there is a spiritual solution to any problem on this planet.
One just has to think “outside the square”, on another level, at/in a
“higher dimension”…
then one’s whole perspective changes.
When stuck on what particular action to take, ASK, TRUST, and allow the
Universe’s Infinite Wisdom to send you the answers through the amazing
power of your subconscious mind, our “doorway to God, the Ultimate
Source”.

and finally, the most powerful force in the world…

20. THE LAW OF CREATION: God is a God of Creation, which is why we’ve all
been blessed with the amazing power of the human imagination (the way, I
believe we “get divine answers from “another realm”, a Higher Power. We
ALL have FREE WILL: the choice to BELIEVE, or not: the FAITH to believe
that your deepest desires and even wildest dreams can and WILL happen if
you can just have enough FAITH.

The above principles, I believe, are in perfect alignment with the laws
of physics and human psychology (the spiritual is just another (and
‘higher’) realm or dimension in which they operate). I sincerely hope
these Truths (eternal) motivate and perhaps even inspire you to move
ahead and achieve great success… in your business, or whatever
endeavours you may choose to embark on in your life.

Have FUN and BE happy as you “ride down the rapids of life”

“Let the light of your BEING shine brightly;
so revealing Who You Really Are.
Be a Bringer of the Light,
which emanates from the deepest recesses of our soul, God, our Creator,
the original Source, the Essence of Life
(and Ground of our very Being).
Therefore, it can do more than illuminate
your own path.
Because we are all connected (no matter where on the planet you may
live),
YOUR unique spirit will help makes the lives of others easier:
By illuminating the paths of our fellow human beings down the often
tumultuous journey of life.
For this torch, this beacon of light and hope is the spirit of our shared
humanity, the character of God, truth, wisdom, beauty and especially
love…
and I truly believe that this divine spark lies within each ONE of us.
It’s what we have in common.
Through your actions and your being,
let your light, YOUR unique spirit truly shine brightly on the world,
like the radiance emitted by a candle at midnight.”
- Craig Lock (inspired by the ultimate Source).

“Be the very best person you can be with “loads of” FUN. Become the
person you are CAPABLE of being … and ALL the person God,
Our Creator intended and CALLED us to become.”

“Even when your own light appears to be extinguished,
another human being may light that candle once more,
turning it someday into a bright flame… somewhere, somehow.”

“When I let go of who (and what) I think I am, then I become all that I
am capable of being.”
- Craig Lock (as adapted and inspired from Lao Tzu)

P.S:
I love these uplifting words from Larry Chenges, so I’ll share to end off
this piece of writing…

“I wish you well on a rainy day
I wish you rainbows to brighten your day
To feel your quiet moments with a special kind of warmth
to remind you that happiness can happen
when you least expect it.

I wish you rainbows to make you laugh and smile
to show you the simple beauty of life
and to give you the magic of dreams come true.

I wish you rainbows
I wish you well.”
– Larry S. Chenges (thanks, Larry)

I wish you well too in following your dreams and being all you were
created to be.

Product Review: SpamArrest

Thursday, March 29th, 2007

s sound familiar? You get so much spam that
you have to keep your finger on the delete button whenever
you check your email. Then you inevitably erase the one or
two important messages that you really needed to see, so
you have to sift through all the spam again in your Trash
folder to find them.

If you go out of town for a couple of days, your inbox
fills up with junk and your important messages start to
bounce before you can return to your computer to clean out
your inbox and make room.

That was my situation. I have a spam filter at the ISP
level, which really does not seem to filter out much. And I
tried a couple of other spam filtering solutions, but they
delayed my email too much, and I never fully trusted that
everything was getting through.

I tried SpamArrest after noticing that a colleague was
using it, but my expectations were not terribly high
because the other filtering solutions that I had tried just
did not work for me.

How Does it Work?

When you sign up for a SpamArrest account, you simply make
a few changes to your email program (such as Outlook or
Eudora) so that SpamArrest can download your email from
your ISP to the Spam Arrest mail server. Then SpamArrest
sorts it and filters whatever you do not want. I expected
to have a little trouble configuring my email account
correctly, but it was no sweat at all. The instructions are
very detailed and easy to follow. They definitely cater to
the layperson, so there is no jargon. And if you do have
trouble, you can get technical support via email.

The basic SpamArrest account allows you to filter up to 5
email accounts. And they have a webmail feature, too, so
you can access your mail by logging into your account at
the SpamArrest website. It is great if you are traveling
and just want to check in.

Once your email accounts are configured, you simply decide
whose email you would like to continue to receive. You can
preauthorize senders by typing in specific email addresses,
by using a special import feature, or by preauthorizing
entire domain names.

When someone who is not on your preauthorized list tries to
email you, she will receive an email asking her to verify
her intent to send you the message. The idea is that a
real human being will verify her identity, but a spambot or
automated mailing system will not.

One of my favorite parts of the SpamArrest system is that
anyone who is on your preauthorized list is never sent a
verification email at all. So you can easily set it up such
that your friends, relatives, and colleagues never know you
are filtering your messages.

Once someone responds to the verification email, she is
added to your list of authorized senders. Then her original
email (and all subsequent emails she sends you) will get
through.

You can always remove people from your list of approved
senders, too, so you have total control of whose email gets
to your inbox.

If a verification email is not responded to, the email
stays in a special “Unverified” folder in your online
SpamArrest inbox for a whole week. That way, you can log in
and check to see if any important messages were not
verified. For example, sometimes I will forget that I
signed up for an email newsletter, so I simply authorize
the sender by clicking a button on the screen. Then the
message, and all subsequent messages from this particular
email address, will go right to my inbox and skip the
“Unverified” folder altogether.

Right after I opened my SpamArrest account, I checked this
Unverified folder every day, but now I find that most of
the senders that I want email from are already on the
authorized list, so I check in only every few days. It is
easy to tell which messages in your Unverified folder are
new since your last login, because they stay in bold
typeface until you log out.

According to the SpamArrest statistics on my account, a
full 63.64 percent of my email to date has been spam. It is
such a great relief to know that it never made it to my
inbox at all. I save a lot of time each morning, and I
enjoy sending and receiving email again.

How Much Does it Cost?

At the time of this writing, SpamArrest subscriptions are
$5.95 per month (or you can save by signing up for a year
or two at a time: $44.95 for one year and $74.95 for two
years.) You can add features for an additional fee, but I
have the basic subscription and have never needed anything
beyond that.

You can get a 30 day free trial of SpamArrest here:

Can’t Get A Credit Card? Apply For A Secured Credit Card Instead

Wednesday, March 28th, 2007

is one of those ubiquitous inventions of the
modern age that refuses to quit. In fact, it has made itself so
necessary in our lives that we need one to rent a car, book a
hotel room or just to buy a comicbook online. More than that,
credit cards are one of the ways creditors take a peek at our
credit history with and they can actually make or break our
chances for a good loan, an apartment or a job. So what do we
do if we’ve torn our credit to pieces? We turn to secured
credit cards.

Secured credit cards are a great substitute for regular credit
cards. Whether you have poor credit badly needing repair, can’t
get a credit card or are new to the credit scene, a secured
credit card can help you re-build or establish your credit.

How does it work?

A secured credit card is a cross between a credit card and a
debit card. It requires collateral in the form of cash
deposited in an account. That amount then functions as your
credit line. So if you deposited $700 in your account, you can
use your secured credit card to purchase items up to $700,
nothing more. The catch is, you have to pay it back.

Some banks offer to give you more credit as a reward for being
a good client (i.e., you pay your bills on time) or maybe allow
you to charge up to a certain percentage more than your deposit
amount. You only need to pay a small interest rate to cover for
that type of usage.

What’s the minimum deposit amount?

Depending on the type of card you chose or on the banking
institution, most secured credit cards will require a deposit
starting at $300. There is no limit to how much you want to add
later on.

What to look for in a secured credit card

Compared to unsecured cards, secured credit cards require
annual fees and come with higher rates. If you’re shopping
around for a secured card, make sure to get one that has no
application fee. You will have to pay an annual fee so choose a
secured card that does not ask for a prohibitively high charge.

Watch out for secured credit card agreements that hide fees or
ridiculous add-ons that you don’t really need. An example is
one where a credit card company will approve your secured card
application provided you sign up for a monthly insurance policy
that costs $50.

Where can I apply for a secured credit card?

Not all banks offer secured credit cards but you can still
check out your local banking institutions if it’s still part of
their product line. You can also check with your credit unions
since many of them offer these cards to members only.

Using secured credit cards to build credit

While most banks target clients who have never had credit
before as the main users for secured credit cards, many
consumers use secured credit cards to help re-establish their
credit. To do this, consumers need only to use their secured
cards and ensure that the bill gets paid each month. By
establishing their reliability, the consumer establishes
positive credit.

The future of secured credit cards

Secured credit cards are still the choice of many card holders,
but many are giving up their secured cards in exchange for
unsecured cards. Unsecured cards don’t require cash collateral,
which accounts in part for their attractiveness. A secured

Foods Today Have Much Less Nutrition Than In The Past!

Wednesday, March 28th, 2007

nk that we are eating healthy, although there is
no doubt that Americans eat some unhealthy junk foods. An
alarming new study published in the Journal of Food Composition
and Analysis reveals that Americans are getting nearly one-third
of their calories from junk foods.

But even if we are trying to eat as healthy as we can, the
foods that we think are healthy are often far less nutritious
than they used to be. It is no coincidence that the quality of
healthy food has been deteriorating as malnourishment and
illness have been on the rise in the U.S. and other developed
countries.

Here’s what several notable experts in the field have to say
about the quality of our food today:

* “Wheat from the US has been rejected at China’s ports
because the protein content was so low,” states Dr. Michael
Colgan, LaJolla, CA.

* A statement from the Agricultural Testament given to the
Congress of the United States states “the impoverished soil of
America no longer provides plant food with the mineral elements
essential to human nourishment and health.”

* Dr. Alexis Carrel, Nobel Prize Winner says, “Chemical
fertilizers, by increasing the abundance of the crops without
replacing all the exhausted elements of the soil, have
indirectly contributed to change the nutritive value of cereal
grains and vegetables.”

A recent analysis of a range of staple foods in Canada,
commissioned by The Globe and Mail and CTV news, included
potatoes, tomatoes, bananas, apples, onion and broccoli.

This is what the analysis found for potatoes:

Over the last 50 years the potato has lost:

* 100% of its Vitamin A
* 57% of its Vitamin C and iron.
* 28% of its Calcium.
* 50% of its riboflavin
* 18% of its thiamin

Of the seven nutrients analyzed only niacin levels had
increased. The results were similar for all the 25 fruits and
vegetables tested. One of the worst results was from broccoli
in which ALL nutrients had declined measurably including
niacin, with Calcium down 63%.

Tim Lang a professor at the center for Food Policy in England
says as a further example of how our food has been degraded is
that you would now have to eat eight oranges today to get the
same amount of Vitamin A that your grandparents got from eating
just one orange.

These foods that have low nutritional values play an important
part in obesity and poor health in general. How can the body
function when it doesn’t get the good fuel it needs? Many
experts believe that the human body is capable of healing
itself of every disease known to man. However,we must give it
what it requires to heal itself and stop interfering with its
innate healing process.

What can be done about this problem?

* Try to eat organic fruit and vegetables wherever
possible.
* Avoid processed and junk foods! Not only are they
nutritionally empty, but they have harmful ingredients that
poison the body, such as trans-fats due to the hydrogenated
processing methods that are used.
* Take a quality nutritional supplement. A
multi-vitamin/mineral tablet is not adequate because they use
synthetic ingredients with both questionable efficacy and
bio-availability. They isolate a few nutrients and leave out
many other important nutrients. Find a nutritional supplement
that is made of whole foods. It should be raw so you get all
the enzymes you need as well.

The best raw whole food supplement I have ever found is called
FrequenSea=F4 by ForeverGreen. It is a raw food liquid supplement
based on the powerful nutrition of marine phytoplankton.

FrequenSea=F4 is comprised of hundreds of species marine
phytoplankton, which make their marine phytoplankton more
powerful than anything you can find elsewhere. The exclusive
extraction process allows them to combine the benefits of
phytonutrients with a natural and balanced composition of sea
minerals.

FrequenSea’s ingredients provide our bodies with the essential
minerals, nutrients, vitamins, co-enzymes, enzymes and amino
acids that we need to promote optimum health.

Beginning Bodybuilding – Questions/Answers

Wednesday, March 28th, 2007

to bodybuilding, everything can be very
overwhelming. The problem is if you ask a 100 people how to get
started, you will get 100 different answers. I will try to
answer some of the basic questions everyone asks:

Should I Join A Gym Or Workout At Home?

If you have access to a gym, this is definitely the best
choice. There are too many distractions in a home. If you are a
very discipline person, then working out at home may be an
option. For the average person, home workouts do not last.

Once you decide where you are going to workout, you have to
decide on a time of day that works best for your schedule. Try
to pick a time that you know will have the least distractions.
If you have a family and kids, try to get to the gym before
work. Or see if you can get in a workout at lunch. Whatever you
chose, just be consistent with your workouts.

An added benefit to joining a gym is you can work with a
personal trainer and have a personalize workout routine setup
for your body type. If you decide to workout at home, there are
plenty of books and magazines that can help you setup a workout
routine.

What kind of workout routine should I follow?

If you are just starting out, I would start out with a routine
that hits each body part once a week:

Day 1: Chest/Back/Biceps

Chest:
Dumbbell Bench Press – One warm-up set of 15 reps followed by 3
sets of 12 reps.
Incline Bench Press – Three sets of 12 reps.
Dumbell Flyes – Three sets of 15 reps.

Back:
Lat Pulldowns To The Front – One warm-up set of 15 reps
followed by 3 sets of 12 reps.
One Arm Dumbell Row – Three sets of 12 reps.
Low Cable row – Three sets of 12 to 15 reps.

Biceps:
Straight Bar or EZ Bar Curls – Three sets of 12 to 15 reps.
Alternating Seated Dumbbell Curls – Three sets of 12 to 15
reps.

Day 2: Cardio

Half hour on the treadmill or elliptical trainer.

Day 3: Shoulders/Triceps/Abs:

Shoulders:
DB Should Press – One warm-up set of 15 reps followed by 3 sets
of 12 reps.
Lateral Raises – Three sets of 12 to 15 reps.

Triceps:
Cable Pushdowns – Three sets of 12 to 15 reps.
EZ Bar Skull Crushers – Three sets of 12 reps.

Abs:
Crunches – Three sets of 20 to 30 reps.

Day 4: Cardio

Half hour on the treadmill or elliptical trainer.

Day 5: Quadriceps/ Hamstrings/Calves

Quads:
Leg Press – One warm-up set of 15 reps followed by 3 sets of 12
reps.
Squats – One warm-up set of 12-15 reps followed by 3 sets of 12
reps.
Alternating DB Lunge – Three sets of 12 to 15 reps.

Hamstrings:
DB Stiff Leg Deadlift – One warm-up set of 15 reps followed by
3 sets of 12 reps.

Calves:
Standing or seated Calf Raises – One warm-up set of 15 reps
followed by 4 sets of 15-20 reps.

Day 6: Optional Cardio

Half hour on the treadmill, elliptical trainer or fast walk.

Try to keep a journal of your workouts (including weights and
times). This will help you keep track of your progress.
Following the workout for a few months increasing the weights
whenever you can. Try to keep strict form to avoid injury.

Should I use nutritional supplements?

Definitely! When you workout, you are breaking your muscle
down. Your body requires nutrients to build the muscle back up.
Building muscle is 10% working out and 90% nutrients/rest. You
build your muscle when you are resting.

If I have to pick the top bodybuilding supplements, it would be
in this order:

a)Multi Vitamin – Make sure your body has all the necessary
nutrients, antioxidants and minerals to build muscle.

b)Whey Protein – Try to make sure you eat at least 1 to 1.5
grams of protein per pound of bodyweight if you are following a
workout routine.

c)Creatine – Try for 5 grams of creatine a day. If you have a
sensitive stomach, try Kre-Alkalyn.

d)Water – Water is not a supplement=D6but it is very important.
Drinking lots of water keeps the muscles full and helps flush
your body of toxins.

With the supplements listed above, also make sure you stick to
healthy foods like oatmeal, egg whites, tuna, chicken, brown
rice, vegetables, etc. If you need to cheat, do so in
moderation. Try to stay away from processed foods, sugar and
alcohol.

Eating small meals 5-6 times a day is more beneficial then 3
meals a day. It keeps your muscles fueled throughout the day.

By following the advice above, you will be well on your way to
develop the body you dreamed about. The key to bodybuilding is
consistency. If you stay consistent, you will succeed!

Should You Consume Caffeine To Lose Weight?

Wednesday, March 28th, 2007

to lose weight are typically anxious to hear
about any trick to make weight loss easier. One way to help
speed weight loss is to find ways to speed up the metabolism,
so that more calories are burned in a day.

Research has shown that caffeine is effective at speeding up
the metabolism, so that you burn more calories. According to
the Mayo Clinic, caffeine stimulates many body functions,
including the heart rate, central nervous system function and
metabolism.

In addition, caffeine may decrease the appetite short term. So,
adding caffeine may be an effective way to jump start weight
loss. There are some things to consider, however:

You may see no effect if you’re already a caffeine consumer. If
caffeine is already a part of your daily diet, you would likely
need very high doses of caffeine to increase your metabolism
above the level at which it already functions. However, those
who don’t regularly consume caffeine may see some benefit.

You must be careful where the caffeine comes from. If you start
getting your caffeine from sugary sodas, you’ll likely gain
weight rather than lose it. However, if you get your caffeine
from coffee, tea and sodas without sugar, you may see some
results.

You must consider your other health issues. If you already
suffer from an irregular heart rate or high blood pressure,
your doctor may have warned you to stay away from caffeine. If
this is the case, caffeine may not be safe for you. Be sure to
talk to your doctor before adding caffeine.

What if I’m Caffeine Sensitive?

Many people stay away from caffeine because they find that too
much caffeine causes sleeplessness or jitters. For these
people, supplementing with caffeine for weight loss might seem
unreasonable. However, there’s one form of caffeine that seems
to be tolerated well by those who are normally caffeine
sensitive.

Green Tea May Be the Answer

Green tea may well be the best way to get your caffeine for
weight loss. Though green tea does contain caffeine, it is in
smaller amounts than many other beverages. In addition, the
caffeine in green tea seems to be better tolerated by the
caffeine sensitive than other caffeinated beverages. This is
thought to be because of the anti-oxidants in green tea.

These anti-oxidants, in addition to making the caffeine less of
a problem, also offer a myriad of health benefits. Green tea’s
anti-oxidants have been shown to lower cholesterol and prevent
heart disease and some forms of cancer. So, even if you don’t
lose weight from drinking green tea, it’s a healthy habit to
add to your diet.

But, the best news is that in addition to being healthy and
well tolerated by the caffeine sensitive, it may just be that
green tea is the best way to get your caffeine for weight loss.
This is because studies have shown that green tea is more
effective in promoting weight loss than other caffeinated
beverages. The combination of caffeine and green tea’s
anti-oxidants appears to be more effective in promoting weight
loss than caffeine alone.

One important study on this subject was reported by the Obesity
Research Group. In this study, ninety overweight men and women
were studied. First, the group was put on a low calorie diet
for four weeks. The subjects were divided between low caffeine
consumers and high caffeine consumers. At the end of the four
week diet period, the subjects were placed on a weight
maintenance program. During this weight maintenance period,
subjects either received a green tea/caffeine supplement or a
placebo. Within the groups, both high caffeine consumers and
low caffeine consumers were given the green tea/caffeine
supplement. The weight maintenance period lasted for 3 months.

At the end of the study, the results were as follows:

-Caffeine consumers overall seemed to have higher satiety
levels and lower leptin levels, which helped speed weight loss.

-During the weight loss period, caffeine consumers lost more
weight than non-caffeine consumers.

-During the weight maintenance period, the low caffeine
consumers who received the green tea/caffeine supplement kept
off more weight than the low caffeine consumers who received
the placebo. In fact, many of them continued to lose weight.

-During the weight maintenance period, the high caffeine
consumers who received the green tea/caffeine supplement did
not report a significantly higher success rate in keeping the
weight off than those high caffeine consumers receiving the
placebo.

While more research is needed to truly determine how green tea
and caffeine can help with weight loss and maintenance, it does
appear that consuming green tea and other forms of caffeine can
help you lose weight. In particular, caffeine and green tea may
be especially effective for those who don’t consume a great deal
of caffeine on a regular basis. And, since green tea is a form
of caffeine that is well tolerated by most caffeine sensitive
people, green tea may be the best way to use caffeine as a
weight loss aid.

You have nothing to lose by adding green tea to your diet. It’s
healthy, refreshing and has no side effects. And even those who
are sensitive to other forms of caffeine can usually drink
green tea without experiencing unpleasant side effects. So, see
if green tea can help you in your efforts to lose weight!

Sharing some Spiritual Thoughts and Principles from Neale Donald Walsh’s
‘Conversations with God’ (Part Three)

“We are not human beings having a spiritual experience. We are spiritual
beings having a human experience.”
- Pierre Teilhard de Chardin

“Religion is for those who fear going to hell;
whilst spirituality is for those who’ve already been there.”
- anon

Submitters’s Note:
This article (in point form) was largely based upon notes I’ve taken from
Neale Donald Walsh’s series of books ‘Conversations with God’, whilst
studying the link between the human mind and spirituality. (Whilst I may
not agree with all of Walsch’s views and beliefs on the concept of God, a
“Higher Power’, I’ve added a few personal thoughts from my experiences of
life – in brackets). I’m sharing this piece to hopefully stimulate
thinking and discussion on these concepts from Walsh’s personal ideas and
beliefs on the ‘airey-fairey spiritual journey’ (which I do ‘try to
test’, futher explore and apply these principles in ‘real life’). Hope
this may be of interest to you. Enjoy…

*

To continue from Part Two…

“To …
Who not only taught me God exists,
but opened my mind to the wondrous truth
that God is my best friend.
You have gifted me far more
than I ever gifted you .
This and you are a work in progress.”

The Process of NATURAL LAW

Life can be a process of creation or reaction.
The soul creates, whilst the mind reacts;
the soul understands what the mind cannot conceive.

Your feelings are your truth. What is best for you is what is true for
you. Thoughts are not feelings.
Once you know your truth, LIVE it.

I am with you always – I live in you.
“I am with you”
Exodus 3:12
“I AM WHO I AM”
Exodus 3:14

Most people believe they have no power to change their circumstances; so
they ask for Jesus to change things for them.
Yet Jesus (who perfectly understood the human condition) said: “Why are
you so amazed? These things, and more, shall you also do.” (John 14:12).
Yet the people of his time could not believe it…and many to this day
also do not!

You all imagine you are unworthy. You’ll use anybody’s name, but your own!

(My comment: In spite of the above statement, I suppose asking for
something in the name of Jesus keeps a person more humble; yet it comes
down to personal choice.)

Now on re-reading John 14:12 (New King James version) I see Jesus’s
actual words were:
“He who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater
works than these he will do…If you ask anything in My name, I will do
it.”

and here are similar words from the New International Version…

“I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have
been doing. He will do even greater things than these…
You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.”
Yet I tell you this…
“Ask and you shall receive. Seek and ye shall find. Knock and it shall be
opened unto you.”

(This is totally in alignment with psychological principles – based on
the concept of BELIEF. So the key is having FAITH and we need a focus for
it, our deepest desires and aspirations – something on which to pin our
faith. And the greater our expectation(s), as well as the bigger (higher)
our faith, the greater the ‘miracles’ that happen in our lives!)

KNOW who you are and create Who you wish to be. This is the
purpose of all of life. Life is an ongoing never-ending process of
re-creation. You keep recreating yourselves in the image of the next
highest idea about yourselves.
The greatest challenge of human beings is to Be Here NOW.

The soul speaks to you in feelings. Listen to your feelings. Follow your
feelings, honour your feelings.
A life lived by choice is a life of conscious action.
A life lived by chance is a life of unconscious reaction.

NB: The soul creates, whilst the mind reacts.

Success is repetition over time.
Life is an ongoing process of creation. You are creating your reality
every minute. Keep focussed, stay centred, single-minded.

Your desires are my desires. Your Will is MY will ???
(That’s another heavy, deep question for consideration.)

Clarity is the first step to mastery.

We and God are ONE. God is not apart from us, ever, and we only think we
are apart from God. God is in each one of us. You must stop seeing God as
seperate from you and you as seperate from each other. As my good friend
Lindsay, ‘the prophet and prayer-warrior’ says: “When a person goes to
church, you take God TO church with you.”

Everything happens in perfect order????
(IS IT?)

(”Your challenge is to reconcile your belief of God as higher power with
the concept of god as the essence of everything with no control,
interest, personality; just spaciousness or Being.”

I’ll ponder that ‘heavy’ statement; but thanks for your input, ‘lynnie
bear’) ^

* (Later… on reflection…I CHOOSE to think that God (or god) cares
deeply about me as a ’special creation’ and what’s best for me and my
life. It’s a DECISION (most important) we make about our spiritual
beliefs, I guess!

To continue with Neale Donald Walsch’s beliefs after that little
diversion from me…

You can BE just what you wish to be, CHOOSE what you wish to experience.
Express and experience that aspect of you which pleases you to express
and experience.

Life moves in cycles – everything is cyclical.
Use your Now Moment for the Highest Purpose – the creation and expression
of Who You Really Are. Decide Who You are – Who you want to be – and then
do everything in your power to be that person.

BE and decide who you really are; to choose and to create who you really
are; to experience and to fulfill your current idea about yourself. It’s
an eternal moment of Self Creation and Self fulfillment through the
process of Self Expression. Fashion the grandest version of the greatest
vision you ever had about yourself. This process of creation and
recreation is ongoing, never-ending.

You may want the world to change; but first change your own world.
Fired with emotion and passion, in our own little ways and in our own
little spheres of influence, we can all raise, then ignite the public
consciousness. So it’s up to each ONE of us to do just what one person
can do to make a difference, a better world.

Elevate your thinking to the highest level of consciousness and be the
change you wish to see in the world today. In so doing you will live at
the highest level of humanity and be an example…for the benefit of all
mankind.

Fashion the grandest version of the greatest vision you ever had about
yourself. Then once you know your truth, LIVE it.
“If it’s to be, it’s up to me.”

Be the very best person YOU can be with “loads of” FUN along the journey
of life.

“Let your light so shine that they may see your good works and glorify
your Father which is in heaven.”
(Matt 5:16)

“You are the light of the world; a city cannot be hidden, if it is built
on a mountain top. A lamp is not lighted to be put away under a bushel
measure; it is put on the lamp stand, to give light to all the people of
the house; and your light must shine so brightly before men”
(Matt 5,14-16. Knox).

“If there is light in the Soul,
There will be light in the person.
If there is beauty in the person,
There will be harmony in the house.
If there is harmony in the house,
There will be order in the nation.
If there is order in the nation,
There will be peace in the world.”
- Chinese proverb

“There is a rich tapestry of talent in every human soul, that
flows through (and from), the Source of our Being, the Spirit
of God, Life. So don’t spend your days stringing and tuning
your instrument; start making and playing your unique tunes
of music right now.”

“When I let go of who (and what) I think I am, then I become all that I
am capable of being. Enjoy just being YOU, as you ride the rapids, er
sorry, fall down the water-falls of life.”

“Let the light of your BEING shine brightly; so revealing Who
You Really Are. Be a Bringer of the Light, which emanates
from our soul, God, our Creator, the Source, the Essence of Life
(and Ground of our very Being).
Therefore, it can do more than illuminate
your own path.YOUR spirit will help makes the lives of
others easier by illuminating others paths. For this light
is our humanity, the spirit of God, truth, wisdom, beauty and
especially love…and it lies within each one of us. Through
your actions and your being, let your light, YOUR spirit
truly shine brightly on the world, like the radiance emitted
by a candle at midnight.”

Pregnant Women & Nutrition

Tuesday, March 27th, 2007

r growing baby is getting the best possible
healthy growing conditions, is of supreme importance for any
pregnant woman. At the top of the list is your diet. Nutrition
is the most important controllable aspect in developing a
successful pregnancy. Because of this it is very important that
expectant mothers are completely in tune proper nutritional
levels in their body. Remember you have another body that you
are feeding!

For mommies to be, the quantity of supplementary calories
needed to be taken in might just surprise you. Believe it or
not, the daily recommended additional calorie intake for
pregnant women is only around 300. Clearly, that’s some added
calories, but it certainly isn’t the several hundred that many
pregnant women think that they should be taking in each day.
300 hundred doesn’t sound like much but it is actually about an
extra meal a day for a full grown adult?

The fact of the matter is that there’s a lot more than just
those 300 calories that can accommodate you with weight gain,
which is not recommended for the mother to be or baby. An extra
tuna fish sandwich or bagel with low-fat cream cheese can do the
trick. Steer clear of the impulse to indulge cravings, as hard
as it may be. Don’t give in to the myth that a pregnant woman
needs a boatload of extra calories every day=D6just 300 will do
the trick.

Just because you’re expecting does mean does mean you’ll need
to take in some extra calories. Protein is one of the nutrients
that you should up your intake of while you are pregnant.
Generally speaking you’ll want to take in about 10 grams per
day more than that of a non-pregnant woman or about 60 grams.
Lean meats, chicken and fish are good choices or protein. The
important factor to consider is to understand what type of
serving size produces the amount of protein (or any other
nutrient) that you actually need. For example with protein it
only takes about an ounce and a half to get 10 grams of
protein.

Calcium is another essential element during a pregnancy.
Today’s, women who are not even pregnant generally fall short
of the recommended daily amount of calcium intake=D6 so
increasing your calcium is generally a good idea to begin with.
Dairy products are a primary source of calcium you get in your
diet. The use of non fat sources of calcium in your diet, this
will help keep your calorie intake under control as well. For
example green leafy vegetables are for you to get some extra
calcium for both you and your unborn child.

Vitamin D helps the body absorb calcium, so a daily supplement
can be a good idea. As the blood volume rises with the advance
of pregnancy, additional iron is required. The daily
recommended amount of iron doubles for expectant mothers from
15 mg/day to 30 mg/day. Make sure you get your iron supplement
because iron is very important! Your healthcare provider will
monitor lab work to see if you need to take an iron supplement.

A good source of iron is red meat, but forget about fish and
poultry as well. On the market today, there are also quite a
few iron enriched cereals that also help to supplement your
iron intake.

Completely vegetarian lifestyles are able to provide all your
required nutrients; the key is finding them in the correct
form. Vegetarians generally must keep a closer watch on their
nutrient levels. However, for the most part this is a regular
task for those who adhere to a vegetarian lifestyle. If you are
pregnant and a vegetarian just be certain to work closely with
your doctor during the course of the pregnancy to ensure you
are getting all the required nutrient supplements you and your
baby need.

Naturally, any expectant woman should consult her physician
early on about dietary changes because each pregnancy is
somewhat to completely different. It is also just as essential
to work with your physician before you become pregnant to make
certain that you are healthy and getting the proper nutrients
in order to have the healthiest beginning you can for a
pregnancy.

Work with your physician in order to provide the best care you
possible can for not only yourself but for your growing child
as well.
