For most people, finding ways to lose weight is like looking
for a needle in a haystack. They seem to try just about every
single program out there but none really seem to work.
For these people, I’ve put together a short list of 3 ways to
lose weight fast.
How To Lose Weight Fast
1. Starve Yourself — Of course, this isn’t recommended for
more reasons than the few I’m about to give. You see, you can
lose weight quickly by starving yourself but much of the weight
that you lose comes in the form of either muscle mass or water.
Do you get some fat loss with this method?
Of course. But the metabolic change far outweighs any of the
benefits that might come around. This loss of muscle mass is
the primary reason most people gain all (if not more) of the
weight back. This is not a good way to lose weight.
2. Steady-State cardio — Most people begin this way of losing
weight by being a little too crazy and trying to run or walk
miles every day. However, the downfall of this method revolves
around the fact that most people’s connective tissues (tendons,
ligaments, etc), just can’t sustain the level of banging around
because it’s not used to it. Of all the ways to lose weight,
this one typically lives the person feeling more disheartened
than any other.
Other things to consider with steady-state cardio:
No afterburn effect — The metabolic benefits of steady state
cardio at a low intensity vanish relatively quickly after the
workout is over.
Sustained calorie burns reduce metabolism — This type of
behavior mimics starving yourself and your body tends to break
down muscle to overcompensate.
So what’s the best way to lose weight fast?
3. Interval Training — Out of all of the ways to lose weight,
interval training represents an awesome way to go. It’s
challenging. You get the “after burn” effect. Plus, with a
higher metabolism, your diet doesn’t have to be as strict.
If you’ve never tried interval training, here is how this way
of losing weight works.
Basically, you go fast for a short time, then slow for a short
time, fast, slow, fast, slow, until you are really breaking a
sweat.
Why should you try interval training?
Well, it doesn’t take as long… typically 10-20 minutes and
you don’t necessarily have to have any type of equipment
either.
So there you have it. Of all the ways to lose weight above,
interval training should find it’s way into your routine.
