anning to work from home are generally under the
impression that working from home ensures a stress free life.
They attribute this to the fact that they no longer will have
to work under an irritating Boss, an unhappy working
environment, unpleasant office politics and also the agony of
commuting long distances.

Whether you work for a Boss or work from home, you are bound to
experience stress in one form or the other. Stress has become
part and parcel of the present day lifestyle. Stress can be
caused by several factors when you work from home and hence a
lot of importance is being placed on stress management to
reduce stress levels in home based business entrepreneurs.

By organizing your work and taking corrective measures, you can
certainly reduce stress but still there will be residual stress
left which has to be managed by adopting certain measures so
that you continue to remain motivated and your productivity
does not suffer.

Taking regular exercises is the best way to keep fit and
healthy. Feeling fit and relaxed can reduce stress. Some of the
things you can do is to take a walk for about twenty minutes,
the first thing in the morning before you start your daily
routine. If that is not possible, you can fit it in during your
lunch break. Jogging, swimming and cycling are all good
excoriates that reduce stress levels.

Music is considered to be one of the best ways to relax your
mind and reduce your stress levels. Make it a habit to sit and
relax for a while every day listening to music that you love,
music that will soothe your nerves and inspire you.

Another way to relax your mind and cope with stress is to take
up a hobby that you are comfortable with and keep you
interested. It is important that the hobby is completely
different from the nature of your work associated with your
home based business.

One of the best ways to relax, reduce tension and stress is to
meditate. Spending 15-30 minutes in meditation exercises can
calm and soothe your mind, reduce stress and make you feel
rejuvenated. Try it out and you will realize what you have been
missing all these years.

When stressed you tend to take short quick breaths. Whenever
you notice this, take a break, relax and breathe in and out
slowly taking deep breaths. This can be done in your place of
work itself- a very handy stress management technique indeed.

When you work from home there is a tendency to work late into
the night and also start working early in the morning. This is
stressful. To reduce stress it is important that you have a
good night’s sleep. Avoid taking coffee or other caffeinated
drinks before going to bed.

Finally a word of caution. Do not be too obsessed with your
work. It is said that “All work and no play makes Jack a dull
boy”. Always try and find a balance. Spend more time with the
family and also socialize with friends. These steps will help
you to reduce stress, enjoy and excel in doing what you love to
do-working from home, running your home based business.

ymptoms of anxiety and stress can be quite
detrimental to one’s health. Unfortunately, many people may be
so stressed that they do not realize the extent of it or the
impact the stress and anxiety is having on their health. In
some cases, the more stress or anxiety an individual
experiences the less able they are to recognize it. Quite
frequently in these situations the individual may have even
become so accustomed to their level of stress, and the physical
symptoms it produces, that they feel it is normal. Due to the
fact that some people may not be aware of their emotional
response to stress and anxiety they may need to rely on
physical manifestations to identify it. This makes taking the
time to learn about the physical symptoms of stress and anxiety
an important step. Tuning into the symptoms of stress and
anxiety can help you to identify potential triggers in your
life and in turn help you to better manage them and alleviate
the stress and anxiety in your life.

It is important to be aware that the physical symptoms of
anxiety and stress can vary from one person to the next. Some
symptoms may be more serious than others and can even be life
threatening. It should be noted that one symptom on its own may
not necessarily indicate the presence of stress or anxiety;
however, where there are multiple symptoms this is a strong
indication there is stress or anxiety present. Some symptoms
you experience may be short-term while others may be long-term
symptoms. Short-term symptoms include the following:

- Cold hands and feet
- Dry mouth
- Rapid breathing
- Increased heart beat
- Increased sweating
- Nausea
- Diarrhea

Generally these short term side effects appear when the body is
responding to a perceived threat. This is the body’s way of
helping you prepare to either stay and fight the threatening
situation or flee from it; a response commonly known as fight
or flight. While this rush of adrenaline and emotions can be
helpful in a truly threatening situation, it can have negative
impacts during times when there is no immediate danger.

Over time these physical symptoms can damage your
self-confidence, disrupt the quality of your life and reduce
the pleasure you get from your work. In addition, when the body
is exposed to these physical symptoms over a long period of time
your health can actually start to decline. Long term side
effects of stress and anxiety include:

- Sexual disorders
- Changes in appetite
- Insomnia
- Frequent illness
- Back pain
- Asthma
- Headaches
- Digestive problems
- Lethargy
- Restlessness
- Depression
- Irritability

Remember, that one symptom by itself may not necessarily
indicate the presence of either short term or long term stress
and anxiety. There are other reasons that can result in a
single symptom, such as certain medications. The presence of
multiple symptoms; however, can indicate a problem. If you
notice multiple physical symptoms of anxiety and stress, take
heart in knowing that stress and anxiety management techniques
can help you to reduce those symptoms and get back to your old
self.

ern life can be overwhelming. When you have
too much on your mind, your body produces excess stress
hormones like adrenaline, non-adrenaline, and an adrenal-cortex
hormone. Additionally, your body experiences other changes. Your
heart rate increases, your blood pressure goes up, your
respiration levels change, you begin to sweat, and you become
unable to process your food because digestion shuts down. While
moving or any type of physical action can slow or even stop the
effects of stress, sitting at your desk or in the car simply
causes all of the stress reactions in your body to continue. At
some point, your body becomes so full of the stress reactions;
you can’t handle the simplest of daily tasks. This is the time
to retreat from the everyday stress of life.

A good retreat doesn’t have to mean vacation. It can simply
mean finding a room in your house you enjoy and spending some
quality time there. For many people, this room is their
bathroom. While bathrooms used to be purely useful in nature,
today’s designs and accessories have changed the bathroom’s
image. One option for turning your bathroom into a stress
relief center is to change your shower head. Some deliver water
massages. Others create a steam room right in your bathroom.
Additionally, most shower heads are now adjustable, which helps
because people aren’t all the same size. If you want a retreat,
it’s nice to finally have one that fits you as a person. Bath
seats are also popular now. Because people work such long
hours, most of them don’t want to be on their feet any longer
than they have to. With the proper sized shower head, it is
possible to sit on a comfortable bath seat and enjoy your style
without putting additional pressure on your feet.

In addition to changing the equipment like the shower head,
there are a number of other easy fixes to make your bathroom
the retreat you’ve always wanted. It is important to paint your
bathroom walls a soft, soothing color. Pastels like pale lilac,
soothing blue or gentle greens will make it seem like the
perfect, comforting space. Oversized one hundred percent cotton
towels with your preferred thickness will increase this
experience. If you only use them when you need a bit of
relaxation, they will maintain their size. Aromatherapy candles
can also be helpful. You can get them in colors to match your
walls, and the scent can be very soothing, as can the gentle,
flickering light. Bath oils can add to the experience. You can
make your own by combining your favorite essence oils, or you
can purchase prepared scents that you enjoy. Add some music to
your retreat by placing a media player away from the water
source. Keep some relaxing music in the player, and you’ve got
an instant soothe. If you plan to take a bath, draw it ten
minutes before you want to get in. That will give the bathtub
time to heat up. All of these simple changes to your bathroom
will make it a great everyday retreat.

Another way to retreat from everyday life without even leaving
is mediation. Mediation offers an inner retreat. Simple
meditation can be undertaken wherever you happen to be at the
time. You can even carry on your day-to-day tasks while being
in a meditative state of mind. For meditation beginners,
however, it is best if you practice mediation in a quiet place
before you attempt to undertake it with distractions present.
Begin by finding a place where you will not be disturbed. It
works best if you sit on the floor, but you can do it anywhere
you feel comfortable. Classic mediation takes place on the
floor with a pillow. If you intend to mediate with your eyes
closed, be sure there is enough light present in the room to
keep you from sleeping. The whole intention of mediation is to
examine your thoughts on a deeper level, and sleeping will
interfere with that. The most basic thing to do to get started
is nothing. Simply relax and do nothing. Become aware of your
breathing and let your thoughts free you. Stop examining the
world as a series of disconnected events and look at the entire
things a connective circle. It is important with beginning
mediation to avoid the use of mantras. They will only force you
to lose your focus on yourself.

Stress is, at times, overwhelming. It is important to find
everyday retreats that allow you to relax and let go of your
worldly troubles.

e or the other stress at a given time. If you
say that you are a stress-free individual, totally stress-free,
you are not a human being. You are divine in that case.

Well, you can feel stress in many ways. You are stressed when
you say the God has erred in one particular aspect. You are
stressed when you say 24 hours in a day are too little to cope
with your duties and responsibilities. You are stressed when
you feel you have so many things to do, in so little a time!

In the day to day activities, you may first experience stress.
When stress heightens up, it is anxiety and the final stage is
panic attack.

Basically it is a friction of confusion over your priorities.
In such situations, you take wrong decisions which further add
to your stress and anxiety to ultimately lead you to panic.

Your tensions and worries attack your will power and gain the
upper hand. You are in search of solutions, to find the normal
position. Now, how to recoup the original poise? Anything done
in stress, anxiety and panic is not going to give you permanent
solution.

Not knowing what to do, and with the intention of seeking
immediate solutions, you take recourse to anti-depressants and
other medications. As a result the stress and tension retreat
for a while but only to attack you with renewed vigor. You
again turn to over the counter medications to gradually become
addictive to them. But your stress and anxiety are in their
original position.

Panic and stress is a personal subject, highly individualistic
and therefore a general medical practitioner will not be able
to solve the problem to your satisfaction. And most of these
anti-depressant drugs are known to have side-effects, some of
them quite serious. Thus soon the remedy becomes worst than the
disease.

It is easy for your doctor to make you entirely dependent on
drugs, but he should not do that and you should not fall into
the drug-trap. Latest researches have proved that if drugs are
used in combination with psychotherapy the results would be
more beneficial. The more you go to the root cause of your
stress and deal with the points of stress one by one, the more
beneficial it would be for you.

You need to aim at a permanent solution and not at a temporary
patchwork!

Natural methods, yoga, breathing exercises and yoga are the
only permanent solutions to stress and anxiety. Panic can never
attack a controlled and composed personality.

ar you finally rid your life of needless stress,
anxiety and clutter. Yes, it’s entirely possible when you
accept that virtually every one of the stressful situations you
find yourself in each day is of your own making — a consequence
of the stressful habits and mindsets you’ve developed over the
course of your life. And just as surely as you’ve gotten
yourself into this mess, you can get yourself out of it. Here’s
how.

Below are several stress reduction strategies excerpted from my
new book “400 Ways to Stop Stress Now…and Forever!” Make the
effort to incorporate them into your life daily and you’ll
begin to see immediate and encouraging results. Let’s get
started:

Work changes into your life gradually.

No crash diets. No sudden, intense workout programs. No radical
overhauls of who and what you are. You might maintain it for a
while, but it can’t last. True change takes lots of small,
mindful, subtle decisions over time that add up to bigger, more
enduring transformations. They’re less disruptive to you and
everyone else, and inevitably get the results you want. Be
patient. If you’re really intent on change, you should develop
the staying power to achieve it without having to act rashly.
Do it by degrees. Why make yourself crazy?

Cut down on competitive stress.

Today, we compete for everything: the space around us, to be
first to own a new product, to get our kids signed up for
programs, to get our viewpoints across, to be faster, smarter,
richer, sexier. Our days are filled with stressful
competitions. And most are absolutely unnecessary. Because
they’re driven by insecurity, fear of being left behind, an
ingrained need to always have more or better than the next guy.
Try to get above all that. If you want to compete, vie to be the
one who stays calm and in control, who isn’t easily sucked in by
material things, who avoids being caught up in the daily
grab-bag that robs people of health and peace of mind. Compete
for that and see how pointless all those other competitions
become. And how misguided those who partake in them begin to
appear. Why make yourself crazy?

It’s not what happens to you, it’s how you react.

In any given day, you’ll have progress and setbacks, triumphs
and failures. That you can bet on. But as good a day as some
people have, they’ll manage to find something to fret about.
(“It’s just luck, it won’t last, I’m destined for misery.”) And
as bad a day as others have, they’ll see the good in it. (“So
what? I’m still alive, still kicking and nothing’s going to
stop me.”) Which attitude will win over your day? And the next
day? And the next? You have control over that: to enjoy your
accomplishments without diminishing them; to accept your
failures as opportunities to learn. You have the power to make
every day a positive outcome. Because it’s not what happens to
you, it’s how you react to it. Why make yourself crazy?

Eliminate meaningless deadlines.

Our lives have become one long game of beat the clock. Crammed
with arbitrary and unrealistic time constraints imposed by
ourselves and others that serve only to make us more pressured,
anxious and stressed out. For no worthwhile reason. Avoid the
trap of assigning timeframes to everything you do, especially
if you have little idea how long it will take. But, you say, I
need a deadline or I simply won’t get around to doing it. If
that’s the case, it’s not a deadline you need, it’s a goal.
Make your goal one of completing a project in a careful,
professional, satisfying manner. In other words, as long as it
takes to do it right. Or maybe your goal is to make the project
more fun and interesting, or to develop a new and more expedient
way of doing it. In any case, save your nerves and your energy
for the few real deadlines we face…like April 15th. Why make
yourself crazy?

Don’t over-volunteer.

Resist volunteering for more than you can handle, more than
your free time allows. Volunteering is great, but heavy
involvement can steal important time from your family and
relationships. (And it shouldn’t be used as an excuse to avoid
more important obligations.) If the work becomes too demanding,
simply say no. Nobody else is going to look out for you better
than yourself. If we all =ECvolunteered=EE to spend more time with
the kids, visit our parents, make loving homes, and carve out
special time for ourselves, there wouldn’t be a need for so
much volunteering in the first place. Why make yourself crazy?

Steer clear of negative people.

You know them well: the whiners, the ones who find fault with
everything, who always lay a hard luck story on you, who
constantly give you grief over harmless trifles, or make
wholesale denunciations of people, institutions and cultures
that don’t suit their fancy or conform to their way of
thinking. Unless you’re stuck with them, shun them. They’ll
pull you down, darken your outlook, try to make your life as
miserable as theirs. Who needs that? And if you are stuck with
them (relatives, coworkers, housemates) don’t agree with or
encourage them. In fact, say nothing and simply leave the scene
whenever they launch into one of their diatribes. Why make
yourself crazy?

Give things a chance.

Today, everyone expects instant gratification. So there’s a
tendency to give up on things too soon=F3the book you’re reading,
the mutual fund you’ve invested in, the musical instrument
you’re learning, the course you’re taking, the person you’re
dating. Don’t be so quick to abandon something that doesn’t
give you immediate results. This could prevent you from
experiencing the greater benefits you’d enjoy by sticking it
out longer. Be patient. Give it more time. Find out for certain
if something is worthwhile rather than make a hasty departure.
It’s better than someday regretting you never really gave it
the chance it deserved. Why make yourself crazy?

These are just a handful of the many ways you can start taking
back control of your life.

ocations are stress producing situations, if not
the most stressful aspect of one’s life. Now and then,
employees are been pressurized by their superiors to maintain
certain standard, or meet up with one deadline or the other.
And this is sometimes done under strict supervision. The end
result in most cases is frustration and excessive stress,
notwithstanding the fact that some organisationS claim to be
working out modalities to ease stress at workplace.

Sometimes, the success of an organisation to help employees
reduce stress either by educating them or engaging them in
stress reduction exercises and practice, will go a long way in
determining the success of the organisation in achieving its
predetermined goals. This is because an employee with less
stress tends to be more productive than one with excessive
stress. Therefore organizations can spend a lot on stress
management which could take the form of consultation or
education. And at the end, no matter what stress management
cost, it proves worthwhile. Stress management should not be a
managerial cadre affair alone because this has proved less
effective according to studies.

So, when you felt stressed up due to the nature of your job,
don’t hesitate to discuss it with someone in the personnel
department. They may help you find a way to reduce the stress,
since they may be quite aware that stress could result in your
inability to perform up to standard. They may find ways to help
you improve the conditions of work thereby increasing your
performance ability. But if increased effort to get help from
the management of your organisation prove abortive, you may
seek help or advice from somewhere else, say from friends or
close relatives. You can apply different technique of easing
stress at work. Try seeing work as a challenge instead of as
burden. Do the ones you find pleasant first and try devising
means of making task easier. Try assigning task to co-workers
if possible.

However, if the stress is becoming overwhelming, then you can
consider a switch of vocation. You may apply for a change of
position within the organisation or send application to other
companies. In fact, knowing that you are mapping out plans to
abandon you present job could be a stress reliever for you and
could help you carry out your present task with more ease than
you thought possible.

On your own, try making your work fun. Devise means of catching
fun while working. Go far away from your job when you are on
break. Take a walk, or engage in some form of exercise that
will ease tension for you. Try engaging in one form of humorous
activity or the other. Anything that could make you laugh could
ease stress for you. Maintain a high sense of humor and you
will discover that coping with stress could be an easy task
than you had initially imagined.

of everybody’s life. In that case everybody is
be eased via relaxation. You may need a combination of stress
reduction method to reduce stress in you life. Stress reduction
method is unique to individuals.

There are various methods of reducing stress. You may need to
does not imply complete wipe out of stress in your life, but a
combination of these can reduce stress to a harmless level.

Taking a deep breath.

Simply taking a deep breath is also a working stress reduction
technique. You can be stress free for the whole day if you
practice deep breathing. Just take a deep breath after every
mind bugging event or activity and you will feel relief of
tension and your body will relax. This could keep you stress
with your month tightly shut. Do this up to ten times and make
it habitual on a daily basis.

Muscle relaxation.

You can also reduce stress through muscle relaxation method. It
is not a hard task. All you need do is to keep practicing and it
will become part of you. First, you lie down comfortably without
having to cross your legs nor you arms. Try focusing your
thought on all the parts of your body, and while breathing
slowly and deeply, intensify each of your body muscles tightly.
Starting from the top of your head and through to other parts of
the body. While tensing your muscles, count up to ten before
letting go and feel the muscle relax. Do these exercises as

of a problem than ever. Life has sped up so fast
that many are stressed out trying to catch up. Some of the
elements that seriously contribute to this ongoing problem are
worldly concerns, financial difficulties, keeping up with
everyone else’s expectations, marital problems, job insecurity,
and much more=D6

The built up stress for many can cause a number of diseases,
disorders, and early aging. Stress relief is more important
than ever! Along with the increase of stress, much more
understanding on relieving it has developed. One great way that
can make a big difference is the hand and foot massage.

How might a Hand And Foot Massage Relieve Stress?

All along your stressful days and possibly nights, you spend a
lot of time on your feet using your hands. They carry out a
majority of your entire bodies works. With stress and fatigue,
they impact how your whole body turns, works and moves as well.
Stress adds up at these critical points. Reflexology on the hand
and foot can relieve much of your daily stress. With the pain
from every day life gone as a result of massage in these
locations, can even cure certain types of diseases.

The hand and foot massage usually takes somewhere between 30
and 60 minutes to complete. This may vary on your mood as well
as choices as to which massage parlor you have this reflexology
performed on both hand and foot. While there you should be able
to see a map of how your foot as well as hand effect stress
relief along with pain throughout your body. You can see where
this massage will help.

Your relaxation is required to make your hand and foot massage
the most effective. Without you will probably not find the
results of relief you want. The masseuse will often play
relaxing music to help your mind go with the flow, allowing you
to better concentrate on enjoying your hand and foot massage.

Among the other benefits of a hand and foot massage, include
improvements to circulation, relief of accumulated pain from
long driving, walking, and many other daily physical demands.
You will be amazed at the results when you have a hand and foot
massage from a professional provider.

You can investigate further on how a hand and foot massage is
done, prior to having one of your own. There are many resources
online and various books on the subject as well. You will find
that along with the hand and foot, a massage is a great way to
relieve all kinds of stress and muscle pains.

When you are ready to go for your hand and foot reflexology, be
sure the massage parlor you choose is certified utilizing only
qualified masseuses. This is important as you have probably
found, since inexperienced rubs can actually cause damage and
maybe even more pain.

With that all said, go and try a hand and foot massage today.
See from your own experience what your opinion will be. Though
you may find yourself hooked and unable to stop once started.
Happier healthier life may be at stake though so have no fear
of a hand and foot massage.

g problem in modern day society. With the speed
of life, mass flow of information, countless irritations, and
the test of dreary news at 11; come many short-term and
long-term problems. These include many physical side-effects
that are suffered by many in large ways.

If stress is a big problem for you, the side-effects can indeed
bring you a shorter unhealthy life. It’s far from unheard
anymore of those passing away between the ages of 40 and 55
from conditions associated with those twenty or more years
older than them. This is the test of the times.

Among the larger causes are heart conditions. An early heart
attack in life can kill you! With modern medicine it’s possible
to survive, however full recovery can be a long process that may
never succeed. This is why many begin having a cardiac stress
test earlier in life and in some cases on a regular basis.

A stress test is a fairly simple test in one sense. Often you
have an ECG machine monitoring you, while walking on a
treadmill. Another form of stress test involves administering a
radioactive isotope (often Technetium Tc99m Sestamibi) and is
called a nuclear stress test. The latter can bring a little
more information.

Modern medicine has many remedies never known before in dealing
with not only heart conditions, but also stress and many of its
debilitating side-effects. As with anything, diagnosis is
always the first step. It might require a test or more, but
often problems later in life can be caught early and dealt
with. Prevention is the best medicine.

Beyond the cardiac stress test, there are also a number of
other tests available online that can help you better identify
stress in your life, and from there you can start working on
removing it to lend to a longer and healthier life.

Your health is really all you have. Take your time reading more
on what you can do to make it last longer and healthier. The
stress the test of time throws at you will draw from that.
Where you are now is a great place to start.

Some areas that can help you fair better with a stress test are
exercise, good diet, and great relaxing rest. The three work
together as a natural human means of dealing with stress.
Studying on these will find you many opportunities that can
help you find a longer, happier, and healthier life.

Many find one way of burning off stress is good cardiovascular
exercise. Working out both your aerobic (with oxygen) and
anaerobic (without oxygen) systems are wise. Learning more
about these will undoubtedly bring you a lot more information
on stress as well. Finish off with a hot relaxing bath, and see
some of the stress stored in knots (that turn into cramps)
vanish.

Today taking any stress test online may be yet another step to
you dealing with your own stress levels. If you find out how to
deal with them now you may find that later on you won’t be
diagnosed with coronary heart disease after tests often
including the cardiac stress test. Cutting down stress, fats,
and other things that can clog up your arteries will definitely
contribute to this better outcome.

In the end, if you take better care of yourself with some good
exercise, well balanced diet, stress management, and rest; odds
are in the long run you will fair better in your later years,
and be happy as a result.
