Selecting The Best Online Weight Loss Program

Friday, January 12th, 2007

become a convenient venue where different
products and services are sold and offered to different kinds
of people.

Online businesses recognize the many needs of people and so
they tend to offer products and services that would certainly
arouse interest and generate rapid sales.

Obesity is one problem plaguing many people, not just in the
United States, but also around the world. That is why many
weight-loss regimens and product innovations are sold online.

It is bizarre how many people in Africa suffer from
malnutrition and under weight problems, and many people in
developed countries suffer from obesity. The contrasting trend
is caused by food intake, though, in opposing directions.

On the Internet, there are more weight loss plans and programs
being sold than there are weight-gaining techniques. It is
because statistics indicate that people who fail to gain
results from conventional weight loss programs tend to turn
online for possible alternative solutions.

Finding the Best Online Weight Loss Program

Since there are numerous weight loss programs and plans offered
online, how would you possibly choose the best among them?

Selecting the best and most effective strategy for weight loss
is often unique for each person. A program that is successful
for one person, may fail to work for another.

Do not select a plan simply based on the strength of the
testimonials. Testimonials are difficult, if not impossible to
follow up on. While many positive testimonials are a plus on
the side of a program, it should not be your main criteria.

To pick out the best among the online weight loss options, you
can also do some checking up on the company itself. Trust
Internet sites that post physical office addresses or have
phone numbers to use to contact the company. Give them a call
or drop by their headquarters, if possible.

Feedback and recommendations from peers are also great ways to
make up your mind when you are deciding which online program or
plan you would purchase or sign up in. A quick online search can
often turn up reviews of sites and products, as well as
recommendations and personal experiences.

Safety

Do not be easily misled by claims made in promotions and press
releases. Make sure you learn the specifics of the weight loss
program. Does it require purchase of supplements? Is there an
exercise component that would require special equipment? Is
there a diet plan component?

Most online programs and plans for weight loss primarily offer
special and recommended diets and gives advice on the timing of
meals, the planning for food allocations and intake and the do’s
and don’ts while eating.

Other plans integrate special diets with exercise techniques.
Still others combine diet, exercise and supplements.

Moreover, also consider the price tag. There are plans to fit
many different budgets. You may also want to consider offline
programs available in your area. The personal interaction may
suit you, and help you to reach your weight loss goal.

The key to remember is that it is a lot easier to gain the
weight then to lose it. An online weight loss program, or any
other weigh-reduction plan, will be futile if you are not
determined to be self-disciplined, and put in the work to see
the plan through.

Lose Weight – Let Go Of The Excuses And Get The Right Information To Get Started

Wednesday, January 10th, 2007

e a parent and conscious about your weight, the worse
thing in the world is when your own kids think you’re fat. When
my kids called me fat I was hurt. However, I knew that it was
true. I also wondered what type of example I am setting for
them.

While it’s polite to say that there is nothing wrong with being
overweight and =ECaccept who you are=EE, I find there is some lack
of accountability with that approach. Especially since there
are many health risks associated with being overweight.

Also, how can being overweight not take a poke at your self
confidence? If being overweight is discouraging, the good news
is we have control to drop the weight and get in shape.

First thing we have to do is put aside all the mental stuff as
to why we can’t lose weight. Let go of the excuses and make the
decision to break the cycle. There are many options available
for people who want to lose weight and get in shape. However,
the best option is to start working out. Here are some tips to
help you out.

Recognize is there is a lot of information out there to help
you lose weight and get in shape. Sometimes there is too much
information. You need to know the right information. While
everyone has their own custom plan with a tag line included, we
run into information overload and wind up going in many
different directions.

One thing to do is prioritize the information you want to read
and also make the decision if it fits into your current plan.
Remember, when you prioritize the information you are not
dismissing it right away. However, you may find it useful for
future workouts.

Keep in mind that its common knowledge that the way you lose
weight and get in shape is to eat right and exercise. You might
think that it’s impossible, since there are those who have been
doing a lot of exercises and dieting for many years and yet
they don’t get results. However, the secret is that we need to
actually work at it.

You don’t have to work hard at it to the point where it’s not
enjoyable. However, you just need to know you have to put in
some hard work at some point in the day to get somewhere.

These are just some suggestions to help you sift through all
the information and achieve the ultimate weight loss that you
want to accomplish. So if you’re planning to lose weight, start
by giving yourself permission to work hard at it. Keep it
simple, know you have to work hard and find the right foods to
eat. You’ll be successful.

ñ Use Both To Lose Weight

Wednesday, January 10th, 2007

have an exercise preference, consider
incorporating cardio and strength training to meet and exceed
your fitness goals.

Cardio exercises help your body to increase endurance and
stamina. They usually raise the heart rate level for an
extended period of time and burn calories at a higher rate in a
short period of time if executed correctly.

Common cardio exercises are walking, jogging and swimming.
Cardio exercises provide the physical challenge your body and
mind needs. While they are challenging, it is well worth it.

Some benefits of cardio exercise can include lowering the risk
of heart disease and increased energy levels. It can also help
increase focus and reduce stress.

If you want to start off with own cardio exercise program, you
need to look no further than your front door. Whatever your
exercise level or preference is, you can start off with a 20
minute walk or jog. For people that are looking for low impact
exercises, there are many low impact exercises such as walking
and swimming that also focus on the cardio system.

While regular cardio exercise is extremely important for added
energy endurance, you should add strength training to your life
style.

Some people get confuse strength training with bodybuilding and
are afraid of getting =ECtoo muscular=EE. However, this concern is
not valid. Bodybuilders are professionals and have years of
experience at their craft. So don’t worry, chances are you
won’t be as muscular as them.

The goal for strength training is to keep your muscles strong.
As we get older we start aging by losing muscle. You don’t need
to buy a weight set or join a gym right away if you don’t want
to. All you need to do is make sure you are taxing your muscles
properly so you can stay in shape.

You can start off with body weight exercises such as push ups,
pull ups and crunches. These three exercises will work out a
lot of your upper body and use your body weight to provide the
resistance you need to work out.

If you do join a gym or have weights at home, weight lifting is
a great way to keep your strength. Start out will exercises that
work large muscle groups (such as the incline dumb bell press).
These types of exercises require more weight to lift and will
incorporate more muscles.

Using a combination of cardio and strength training exercises
will provide the best results in your quest to remain lean and
fit. If you are concerned about the time it takes to do both,
you can still work out with both in less than an hour’s time.
This of course depends on the intensity you work out with.

Surgery For Weight Loss: Knowing Your Options

Tuesday, January 9th, 2007

have a considerable amount of weight to lose
often benefits from weight loss surgery. There are several
different types of surgical weight loss options than works for
those who are morbidly obese. The biggest advantage of having
weight loss surgery is that most patients are able to lose
their excess weight over a couple of years and can keep most of
the weight off. In addition, weight loss surgery can also help
resolve a host of health problems related to obesity.

Before having weight loss surgery, a patient must qualify. A
doctor that specializes in these types of surgeries will
carefully consider each patient’s case before making a
decision. For the most part, those who are good candidates for
these types of surgeries must be considered morbidly obese.

This means that they must be at least 100 pounds or more over
their normal body weight or twice their recommended body mass
index. Patients who qualify for this surgery must be relatively
healthy otherwise and not suffer from problems with the stomach,
pancreas and intestines.

There are generally three types of weight loss surgery that are
performed on overweight people. All of these surgeries either
make the stomach capacity smaller by creating a new stomach
pouch, or shortens the digestion tract by connecting the
stomach to the large intestines and completely bypassing the
small intestines.

The newer Lap-Band surgery makes a smaller stomach and is
usually recommended because of the shorter recovery time and
risks. In addition, the Lap-Band is often preferred because it
is reversible and adjustable. Patients experience a more even
paced rate of weight loss and are able to keep it off longer
than with other surgical methods.

The Roux-en Y Gastric Bypass is a procedure that minimizes the
amount of food that passes into the stomach. It also decreases
the amount of food that is absorbed into the digestive system.
The stomach is either stapled or sewn closed at the upper half
creating a smaller stomach on top. The intestines are then
connected to the smaller stomach and food passes directly from
one are to another.

The initial advantages of this surgery are that there is rapid
weight loss right after surgery. This surgery also has a higher
success rate than other forms of weight loss surgery. However,
the gastric bypass is often more invasive and recovery time is
longer. The Vertical Banded Gastroplasty is a very similar
surgery, but the stomach is stapled and the intestines are left
intact.

The more extreme of the weight loss surgeries is called the
Biliopancreatic Diversion. During this surgery, about
three-fourths of the stomach is completely removed and the rest
of the stomach is connected to the final segment of the small
intestines.

There are several disadvantages to this approach including
having a higher mortality rate; the dumping syndrome, more
invasive and can lead to life long bone density loss and
anemia. The advantages to this weight loss surgery are that it
allows for larger meals and it presents patients with the
greatest amount of initial weight loss.

Frequently Asked Questions About Weight Loss Surgery

Monday, January 8th, 2007

ooking to lose a considerable amount of weight,
often turn to weight loss surgery. While weight loss surgery is
an effective means of losing weight, it can be a hard decision
for some to make. In the past, there have been many stories
about weight loss surgery patients that have had a difficult
time recovering. Today, there is newer technology that makes
these procedures easier and safer. Still, many people have
questions about weight loss surgery.

If you are considering weight loss surgery, it is important
that you talk to you doctor about which kind of surgery is
right for you. Also, make sure that all questions are asked
before deciding on the surgery. There are different types of
weight loss surgeries and each one carries a unique set of
risks and complications. Here are some common questions people
ask about weight loss surgery.

How much weight will I lose after the surgery? This often
depends on which surgery you have and how closely you follow
the guidelines. In general, most patients will lose two to
three pounds each week for the first year. One pound a week is
more realistic. After the first year, weight loss will drop and
the amount of weight lost will be gradual. Most patients can
expect to lose around 36 percent of their excess body weight in
the first year following surgery.

How long will it take to recovery from surgery? This also
depends on what kind of weight loss surgery you have.
Laparoscopic patients have a much shorter recovery time than
those who have an open procedure. Most patients stay in the
hospital for at least 24 hours after surgery. It takes most
patients one to six weeks to resume daily activities and
exercise.

Will I be sick after the surgery? With all weight loss
surgeries, the goal is to limit food intake. Getting used to
the fewer calories can lead to dizziness and headaches. For
those who often feel nauseated after eating, this can mean that
the food is not being chewed well enough or that the wrong foods
are being eaten. It is important to control the nausea because
vomiting can lead to serious problems.

Will I need plastic surgery fro the surplus skin when I have
lost a lot of weight? Some patients do choose to have plastic
surgery after weight loss surgery. If a patient has been
overweight for a long time, the skin it stretched and will
usually not =ECmold=EE itself into place. Plastic surgery is not a
consideration until at least one year following surgery.

Can I become pregnant after the surgery? Yes, with some weight
loss surgeries, but it usually recommended that you wait at
least a year to eighteen months following surgery before
becoming pregnant. With the Lap-Band, the band can be loosened
during pregnancy to accommodate the increased need for more
nutrition.

Will I suffer from constipation? Some patients do because there
is less fiber in the diet. This is normal and if it becomes a
problem, your doctor can recommend a mild laxative.

How To Choose A Weight Loss Plastic Surgery

Sunday, January 7th, 2007

oss plastic surgery or bariatric surgery is
fast gaining popularity because increasing affluence and
knowledge of using surgery as a form of targetted or fast
weight loss.

Patients may opt for a weight loss plastic surgery out of
reshaping their body shape or simply to improve their health
and escape from severe obesity.

There are basically three basic types of weight loss plastic
surgery :-

There are the restrictive surgical procedures like the lap band
surgery to make the stomach smaller and thus limiting food
consumption.

Then there are the malabsorptive surgeries to shorten the
intestine that comes in contact with food so that the body
absorbs less calories from the food consumed.

Finally, there are surgeries that combine both restrictive and
malasorptive plastic surgeries.

Restrictive surgeries encourage easy weight loss in two ways.
First, the surgeries reduce the amount of food consumed. The
stomach is shrunk by creating a small pouch at the top of where
food enters and therefore less food is consumed by the patients.
Restrictive surgery also make patients feel full longer because
the lower outlet of the pouch is made smaller so that food
empties slowly. Lap band cosmetic weight loss surgery and
Vertical banded gastroplasty are examples of restrictive
surgeries.

Gastric bypass surgery is a combination both the restrictive
and the malabsorptive surgery. This surgery is done by creating
a small stomach pouch to restrict the amount of food intake. Then
a bypass of the duodenum and other parts of the intestine is
constructed to cause malabsorption. Roux-en-Y gastric bypass
and Distal Gastric Bypass are examples of the gastric bypass
weight loss plastic surgery.

What are the risks of weight loss surgeries?

Health risks are almost the same for both restrictive and
gastric bypass surgeries although the risk of nutritional
deficiencies for calcium, Vitamin B12 and iron are higherin
gastric bypass surgery patients. Intestinal leaking may also
occur.

Gastric bypass surgery patients may experienced the “Dumping
Syndrome.” This is when food moves too fast through the small
intestine and the patient may experience nausea, cold sweat,
dizzy and fainting spells, weakness and occasionally, even
diarrhea.

Patients can opt for the either the traditional open surgery or
laparoscopic sugery the latter being that there will be smaller
scars as well as less down time since the bariatric weight loss
surgery patient can recover faster.

As with any form of surgeries, patients must ask their surgeons
which for of cosmetic surgery is best suited for them. Before a
patient is committed to undergo a surgery, he must have tried
other healthy means to lose weight. A weight loss surgery
should always be the last option when all other efforts failed
to help the patient to reduce weight.

Realistic Weight Loss Tips

Friday, January 5th, 2007

ny positive changes that occur as a person works
on healthy weight loss. Other than physical appearance weight
loss affects a person in many ways. Health and depression risks
are greatly reduced. Quality of life, longevity, self-esteem and
physical ability are all improved.

Diets alone do not work. Like a lot of things in life if the
claims are =ECit is so easy and takes very little time and
effort=EE you can expect a poor quality results. Sensible healthy
eating and raising fitness levels must work together to produce
long term weight loss; both take dedication and effort over a
long time.

To lose weight effectively and permanently 3 aspects of life
should be changed: what to eat and drink, attitude and activity
level.

Consult your doctor

The first thing that an over-weight person must do is seek
advice from a doctor or other health care specialist. They can
recommend the best weight loss regime and ensure that your
health is not going to be put at risk. This should be done
after a physical examination that leads to the determination of
proper weight loss technique and assessment of existing fitness
levels.

Realistic Weight Loss Tips:

First: Realistic weight loss is a combination of mindset,
exercise and in some cases, diet supplements. Begin by taking
part in a food reduction and exercise plan that is practical.
The exercise plan should be at least fifteen minutes a day to
start with. Depending on your existing fitness level you should
be doing exercises like brisk walking, running, swimming, and
dancing to begin with and builds to at a least 30 minute a day.

Second: You must set realistic goals that reduce your weight
and increase your fitness. The weight reduction must be healthy
and sustainable. The ability to focus and have positive mindset
enables someone on a diet and fitness regime to lose those
extra pounds. Joining a group or a class can help as reporting
progress to a peer group encourages you to stick with it. You
must learn to become tenacious and patient to allow your hard
work time to pay off.

Third: Everyone’s body reacts differently to different weight
loss programs and plans. A realistic weight loss and exercise
program must be suitable to your body type and existing level
of fitness. Not being able to exercise or loose weight as
rigorously as some others can be discouraging or encouraging
depending on your attitude. Just be careful not to over do it.

If walking is all that you can manage, then walk, however you
are in luck because walking is proven to be a great fat burning
exercise. The ideal speed is walk as fast as you can but still
be able to talk freely without gasping. This burns up the
calories but builds muscle and cardio endurance.

Fourth: Eat more quality foods that contain fibre and
vegetables as it helps to make you feel full sooner and in
stays in the tummy longer moving the harmful waste in the
digestive system more efficiently.

Fifth: Keep away from fried foods especially deep-fried as this
contains a large amount of fat. Although fish and chicken appear
leaner than beef when it is fried can contain more fat than
beef. Grilled food is far better for you as it greatly reduces
the amount of fat that is consumed.

Sixth:Take lots of fluid. Drinking at least six to eight
glasses of water a day keeps the body refreshed. Water helps
body eliminate body waste and keep stay hydrated which is very
important when you are exercising. It also acts like an
appetite suppressant helping you feel full.

A little bit of time and effort applied consistency equals
Realistic Weight loss success. Light dieting, quality workouts,
and right amount of food and supplements applied in a regular
way everyday will result in permanent weight loss and
improvement in general health. Taking massive inconsistent
action only to be followed a return to old habits will show
little improvement and loss of motivation.

It is impossible for diets to work on their own. The key is
Keep It Simple, Drink plenty water, Walk when you can and eat a
good balanced diet consistently.

Thursday, January 4th, 2007

for you to lose weight while in search of love
and marriage in 2007. It is Not a diet, but it is a plan to
help you reach=F3and maintain=F3your most beautiful weight, not an
anorexic or skinny weight, but the most comfortable, healthy,
and appropriate weight for your body type.

No other =ECbeauty factor=EE is as important in attracting a man’s
attention as achieving and maintaining your most beautiful
weight. It is appropriate to emphasize weight in developing a
hot and sexy American Geisha appearance because extra pounds
can have such a specific and significant impact on areas of
beauty throughout the body.

For now, let’s just acknowledge how important the right
weight=F3a beautiful weight for you=F3can be in the eyes of a Good

level of confidence and happiness.

You’ve probably heard the research showing that over 60 percent
of Americans are either fat or, worse, obese. This is an
incredible fact: Six women out of ten are much too heavy for
their beauty or their health. And, of course, still more women
are above their best, most beautiful weight. If you are among

most beautiful weight, then you will have a great advantage (an
incredible one!) over those other, say, 70 percent of American
women in attracting appropriate men to you.

Here’s the most important and first step of the American Geisha
weight loss plan that will work for you:

Sincerely convince yourself of the truth of these two
affirmations in support of your 2007 resolutions to in 2007 in
support of your 2007 resolutions to be married within the next
12-to-18 months:

-I want more than anything to be in love with and married to a
Good Man within twelve to eighteen months.
-I care more about love and marriage to a Good Man than I do
about food.

Because you care so much about love and marriage, beauty and
sexy femininity, you will be successful in managing your
weight. Then you will be at your strongest and most confident
as you pursue love and marriage with your Good Man.

Finding The Best Weight Loss Program

Wednesday, January 3rd, 2007

y know already, there are hundreds, if not
thousands, of ideas on what is the best weight loss program on
the market today. For every company that offers a plan, there
is a different idea of what works best and what doesn’t work at
all. It is no wonder that so many people are confused when it
comes to choosing a weight loss program.

Nearly every one of us has tried to lose some pounds at some
time during our life. For the most part, we fail. Yes, there
are those lucky few who have succeeded in their plan and have
shed the pounds and are now happily keeping those same pounds
off. But for the rest of us, dieting can seem more like torture
than anything else.

Losing those extra pounds can seem impossible. Even thought we
starve ourselves, the pounds remain. It is no wonder that so
many people simple throw the diet plan in the trash and go back
to their old eating habits. They reason that it is no use
putting themselves through this if they cannot see the results
they were promised.

In many ways, we cannot blame them. Who wants to count calories
day in and day out? Who wants to feel as if they are being
denied the foods that they crave and so desperately want to
taste?

It seems that in many cases this failure is not so much the
fault of the person, but rather the fault of the weight loss
program itself. Some of these plans will spend millions of
dollars in advertising to get people to buy their products,
knowing full well that the products do not work as advertised.
Other companies will gladly take a person’s money, ship them
some product, and then promptly disappear from the scene,
leaving the person to fend for themselves.

Another issue that causes failure is lack of proper medical
guidance beforehand. Anyone considering a weight loss program
should begin by visiting the family doctor. Only your doctor
can tell you exactly what you should do and how you should do
it.

This is increasingly important for people with special needs.
For example, diabetics require special needs in their diets and
those needs must be addressed and understood by the patient
before going on any type of food restriction regime. The truth
is, your life might be at risk if you haphazardly begin a diet
regime that does not meet your needs. This can harm your
metabolism and organs and lead to serious problems.

It is also important to understand what types of exercise
activities you are safely capable of doing. An over-stressed
heart or lung can lead to major health problems, such as heart
attack or stroke. Your doctor can set you up with a safe
exercise routine that will help shed the pounds while not
endangering you.

What Is The Best Weight Loss Exercise Program?

Wednesday, January 3rd, 2007

e, the hardest part of dieting is trying to
figure out a weight loss exercise program that fits their
schedule and their personal level of fitness. How many of us
have been sparked by the desire to lose some pounds and firm
up, only to run to the gym, pay our fees, and then go full bore
into lifting heavy things above our heads until we felt as if we
would collapse?

That is not an uncommon occurrence. Many of us have done
exactly that in the past. But that is not the way to set up a
good, solid weight loss exercise program. In fact, doing that
sort of thing is almost guaranteeing failure even before
starting.

The key to a solid weight loss exercise program is doing those
activities that you are best suited to do at that particular
time. If you have been a couch potato for years, you are
unlikely to finish the next marathon that is held in your town.
You are just as unlikely to swim fifty laps in the pool if you
have not been in the water for a decade or so.

You have to build up your strength and your endurance and that
takes time and patience. A good place to start is with a
personal trainer. Even if you cannot afford one to be with as
often as you might like, you can utilize one to explain to you
in detail the activities you are best suited for. He or she
will also show you how to properly do the activity so that you
do not injure yourself. And they will also be happy to tell you
at what level you should be working at.

Before doing any of that, your first stop should be at your
doctor’s office. Your doctor can advise you on what diets are
safe for you and which are not. And he or she is the only one
who should be consulted if you have a pre-existing condition
that requires special dietary needs.

When you visit, tell him or her about the weight loss exercise
program you plan to do and ask them if there would be any
problems with that. They may order a stress test or advise you
on your current level of endurance. He or she will also explain
to you what you should avoid.

Another good idea is to read up on some success stories that
other people have to share. This can be a great way to get
motivated toward taking those first few steps, and it is those
first few steps that are often the hardest.

You can read some very encouraging stories by people who have
already done what you plan to do at
http://www.thedoctoristhin.com. Here you can see how two
doctors have developed a system that can help you lose the
pounds and firm up the flab. Best of all, it works and it can
work for you as well if you give it a try!
